  • Apple 'wants to serve everyone' with wide iPhone price range, Tim Cook says

I think much of the world might disagree with his understanding of 'everyone', but the iPhone Xr is a good phone at a comparatively good price. I plan to pick up a blue one, mostly because I like the color and it has everything I care about.

  • Apple debuts 5.8-inch iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max with OLED screens

Trying so hard to be excited. It’s just not “magical” anymore. Loads of meh...
This kind of whining is predictable. Every year the smartphone grows more and more mature as a product category. The initial growth spurts are in the rear-view mirror, my friend. If you're deriving your personal happiness on surprises from tools like smartphones, you're in for a lifetime of disappointment. The more important questions are -- does this tool perform the jobs-to-be-done I have for it? Do I like it better than the alternatives?

    "Magical" is in your mind.
I know this isn't what you meant, but the watch changes seem magical to me now. It's still a young product category, and the changes from year to year are still amazing to me.

  • Adoption of iOS 11 reaches 85 percent ahead of release of iOS 12

I’m still trying to figure out what the purpose of iOS 11 was. There wasn’t much in the way of new features, more just incremental evolution, and even after 11 months iOS 11 is still quite buggy on my 6s. I’d rather they debug the current version than come out with a new one.
I think iOS 12 is meant to be sort of a debug release. From what I hear, that's the case, because a lot of beta testers are saying the beta releases of iOS 12 are more stable than iOS 11 is after almost a year of fixes. It's also supposed to be a lot faster on older phones such as yours.

I'm interested to see whether adoption of iOS 12 is significantly faster than iOS 11 because it's supposed to be such a better release.

  • What to expect from the Apple Watch Series 4, and when it is coming

I have an jet black iPhone 7 that I love. I'll probably update it this year, but honestly it's more because I like shiny new items than because the new ones are that much better.

The watch is a different story. The changes each year for the watch have been pretty huge. Series 2 introduced huge increases in speed and battery life. Series 3 introduced LTE. I'm very excited to see the improvements in Series 4. I'm hoping to more battery life, bigger displays and better heart rate tracking (I doubt that my heart rate is really 54 when I'm running flat out). I'm also hoping for more speed and a better speaker.

With watch OS 5, I think there will be a  lot more times when I'm willing to leave my phone at home. I love listening to podcasts, so this alone is huge.

  • Actor Orlando Bloom stops play because of audience member just holding an iPad

Frankly, I can see his point. Just because it wasn't what he thought doesn't mean it wasn't a reasonable assumption.
