  • Judge blocks Trump plan to ban TikTok on Nov. 12

I find it ironic that TikTok, owned by China, oppressor of pretty much any speech it finds detrimental to the supreme leader, is claiming a violation of free speech on our and using it against us.  Shameful.

  • Users can buy iCloud storage in addition to Apple One plans, for up to 4TB

I use both iCloud and Dropbox.  I just don't feel that iCloud is on par with what Dropbox offers, particularly in the business arena.  Has anyone in a similar position made the jump to 100% iCloud?

What prevents me from leaving Dropbox is:

Sharing files to other users - even if not on dropbox.
    Recovering deleted files.
Easy ability to flag files as online-only and ease of controlling that option.

    Any thoughts?

  • Designer makes $100k in six days selling icons for iOS 14

3,626 individual sales worked out to a profit of $101,528 in just six days. IT IS ONLY A PROFIT AFTER EXPENSES! Apple takes 30% remember? maybe you haven't heard the news lately. SO, AFTER Apple gets its cut, (a little over $31,000) and other expenses are deducted, that is the PROFIT. I hope this helps
Did you do even this mast basic of research before you spouted off?

This isn’t sold through the App Store Einstein.  It’s from the developer’s own website.  So he gets it all.

And even if he did have to pay 30%, 70% of something is better than 100% of nothing.  The developer gets access to countless customers all thanks to Apple’s hard work,

The only greedy person here is you.

  • New OWC Thunderbolt Hub expands Thunderbolt 4 connectivity

I just received my 2020 iMac and while I love everything about it, the one thing that just irks me is Apple's decision to limit it to two TB3 ports.  It should have four.

I have dual monitors, and two TB2 drives RAID towers.  Which means for now, I can't plug in any USBc devices.  WTF Apple?

  • Apple says potential EU Apple Pay rules threaten security, stifle innovation

    avon b7 said:
I think it's Apple that doesn't understand at least part of the problem.

And as things stand, nothing has been approved or formalised.

The EU stance is clear. Apple shouldn't have any issue with it and it has zero to do with stifling innovation (and innovation cannot come before competition rules anyway).

Apple has to offer something to reflect its own stance but this statement is very poor.

If, the EU decides that Apple is restricting competition (and that's a big if) its options are clear and simple.
Funny that you think Apple doesn't "get it".  I think they do, and ignorance is on your side.

For decades, the banking industry has gotten away with selling my user data, or better yet, having data breaches that placed my financial life at risk.  ApplePay resolves that.  F**k them.

Banks don't like that Apple controls the final length to the customer.  The ONLY reason for this is so the banks can get out of using ApplePay and use their own version that denies me the ability to use ApplePay.  Oh, I want to use my iPhone with my Bank of America credit card?  They no longer work with with ApplePay.  You have to use their app, but... "consumer choice"!! That's their only reason.   They will deny me the ability to use ApplePay so they can continue harvesting my data.

They are hiding their true agenda under the veil of "consumer choice" bullshit, and people like you just lap it up.  If you think your "choice" is threatened, go to Android and don't look back.  It's the wild-west so why you're expecting Apple to be like Android is beyond me.  We all enjoy Apple's locked-down approach.  They sell an all-in-one widget.  Competition is plenty from other players.

You keep spinning that "consumer choice" narrative.
