  • Microsoft suggests shift to iPhone as Windows 10 Mobile end of support date announced

Bad news for the 5 people using this iKnockoff.
Please enlighten us about how Microsoft copied the iPhone?  Android is obvious, but at least Microsoft made its own phone from the ground up with its own OS.  Have you ever even tried one?  I actually preferred it over that iOS-knockoff Android any day.  Microsoft simply had zero clue how to compete in the mobile arena.

  • Apple pulls iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 from sale in Germany as part of sales ban

The fact Apple pulled the allegedly infringing models shows Apple’s seriousness in following through with their case against Qualcomm.  It takes integrity to willingly suffer losses along the way to following through on what you believe to be the correct course of action.
It shows Apple can’t get away with stealing intellectual property in All markets.   They pulled it because of their dubious legal position.
Do you even know how QC got the verdict in their favor in Germany when in other courts they lost for the exact same thing?  Apple didn't "steal" anything.  If anything, the actual company in dispute (Qorvo) didn't want QC to steal their technology when proof of innocence was presented in court.  Elsewhere, Qorvo was allowed to present the evidence privately to the judge and exclude QC's engineers from looking at it and stealing it.  Germany didn't do that, which is why I think QC will lose on appeal.

By removing the phones, Apple was simply adhering to law.  Nothing else.

But to you... hey... surely it MUST mean Apple is guilty!

  • Qualcomm posts $1.52B bond to enforce German ban on some iPhones

Irrespective of Qualcomm's questionable IP licensing practices, Apple must win this case. Qualcomm is so desperate that it's like injured Tiger fighting the last battle for proving in Court it's wrongful practices but also it's survival.

The company (Qorvo) that Apple partnered with refused to reveal its battery-tech in the presence of QC engineers.  Where QC lost this lawsuit in other countries as the court allowed the evidence to be shown without QC involved, they were somehow able to get away with essentially "penalizing" Qorvo in Germany.

QC is doing some strange legal maneuvering.  Any sane person will realize that a company has a right to protect it's secret IP and not be forced to hand it over to a competitor like QC.  QC is sketchy enough that they will certainly use that info to implement it in their own products.

  • Review: 802.11ac Synology RT2600ac router is the best AirPort replacement we've found yet

Very cool router but not having AirPrint is a let down. But is AirPrint feature really necessary if the printer is already has AirPrint built-in?
    It is not.
Most new printers include AirPrint services.  Having it in the router is unnecessary unless your thinking is that non-AirPrint printers can be used?

  • Apple's $62.9 billion stock buyback program called a bad investment in new report

Who gives a flying hoot whether it was good or bad for Apple. Stealing poor people's healthcare and giving the money to the rich was horrendous public policy.

We were promised increased investment, not stock buybacks for Apple shareholders. That didn't happen.
    *yawn*

    AAPL treated me quite well.
