  • Leaked M1 Ultra Mac Studio benchmarks prove it outclasses top Mac Pro

Well, it looks good on number in the presentation. But let’s not forget the Ultra is comparing with a 2 year old Xeon. 2 years is a lot in computer technology. Not to mention, arguably AMD’s Epyc is the fastest CPU in the PC world.

Let’s hope the future Mac Pro will be even faster with 4/8 sets of CPU. But it might cost $8000 on the entry model.
Intel's offerings until just recently have remained stagnant on the Xeon side.  It's only right to compare it with Apple's current Mac Pro offerings, even though it's 2 years old.  It's still incredible how Apple has pushed the performance envelope in those two years where Intel was nowhere to be seen.

While AMD's offerings is also impressive, when compared in terms of performance-per-watt, ASi outperforms them both.
Honestly, I don’t understand why Apple is so emphasis on performance/watt. Sure save energy is good and less noise from fan. But no one really care if their $100000 sports car use much less gas than the next car. People care about how fast it can go and how it handle the corner, not gas/miles.
Sorry these are not penile extensions. Consumers are more concerned about energy usage due to costs going up and understand that more energy used = more heat and more heat = shorter lifespan. Throw away PCs are not the droids we are looking for.

  • Steve Jobs wasn't a good engineer, had to learn communication & sales says Wozniak

Woz is right.  He was the competent one, Jobs was the idiot blabbermouth.  Woz made stuff, Jobs made noise.

Jobs was fired for a good reason in 1985, he should have been fired again in 1996.  Apple was a good company because of Woz.  Apple succeeded in spite of Steve Jobs, and turned into a far worse company because of him, Ive, and Cook.
Pure horseshit. Jobs wasn’t even working for Apple until 97. Apple bought NeXT in December of 96. Apple’s board appointed Jobs as interim CEO on September 16, 1997, 12 years to the day he was fired from Apple.
When he came back, Apple was less than 90 days from bankruptcy. If he hadn’t come back there wouldn’t be an Apple computer anymore and certainly nobody would have cared who Woz was.

He didn’t have to come back as his work at Pixar made him a billionaire. So yes he knows something about marketing and sales and that he learned away from Apple when he was trying to get NeXT off the ground.

  • Samsung is throttling the performance of over 10,000 apps

The way iKnockoff companies like Scamscum get away with this is disgusting.  If this were Apple, guaranteed that the the botomfeeding lawyers, media, and iHaters would be screaming for Tim Cook's head, and clickbait YouTubers would fill the Internet with countless videos on how Apple is a "greedy" company and ripping off users.

If Apple did that, there’d be huge class action lawsuits lined up on Cook!  😂
I remember a few years ago Apple throttling entire devices with a degraded battery..
They did and there were many lawsuits. Apple shot itself in the foot by offering the battery replacement program that ended up not getting the effect they wanted. It ended up costing them a lot of money because they underestimated how many people would replace their battery, even new batteries were replaced on devices if customers asked, and they didn’t reach their estimate of how many people would end up upgrading to a new device. Which in turn hurt their image more when customers got upset that the new battery didn’t speed up their device.

I got torn a new ahole here, when I posted that iPhones only have a 3-5 year relative lifespan and a battery on an older device won’t make it as fast as it was when it was new because more than likely the OS has been updated and that update takes a toll on older hardware.

Nobody believed me when I said the main reason why the throttling was introduced was to prevent the device from shutting off unexpectedly which is like pulling the cord on your desktop computer while it’s on. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Apple did fuck up by not explaining it properly and didn’t even mention it when it rolled out in a software update, and didn’t give customers an option to turn it off and let their device shut down.

You do know Apple themselves use the devices, not to hack, but to “device to device” copy.
Obviously the software may not be exactly the same. There’s an irony in there somewhere!
I’m curious what evidence you have of this because I find it very difficult to believe that Apple would need a third-party vendor’s tool to copy their own product.
Erm…. I worked there. I used the tool multiple times. Generally it was used to transfer Android phones to iPhone. (This was in 2017). So this isn’t hearsay or guesses, this is fact.
    To what?
To the point that was made earlier in the discussion that Apple USED to use a Cellbrite device. Now these devices are not the same as the ones sold to law enforcement. The ones Apple used were to help copy contacts from old non smartphones to iPhones. I’ve also seen the same device at Verizon and Best Buy. It’s a small windows based device with two ports and a program that helps you transfer over phone numbers and media. It came with an assortment of cables to be used for older cellphones. Once iCloud and other technologies came out to transfer information they disappeared.
