    Well, I suppose the apologists would cite that the M1 iMac still more than meets the requirements of the target audience. Which to be fair is probably correct, after all it's not like the average receptionist or home user is suddenly going to need more power to browse the internet and check email. Apple also tends to not discount a product, ever, so it will sit there for years becoming worse and worse value and Apple will refuse to drop the price. Shit, just look at what they did with the Trash Can Mac Pro...

    Personally though, I think it's just good old fashioned corporate greed. They don't need to change it, it's not like the iMac has the volume of the MacBook Air line and yes, the longer it hangs around the more profit they make when they sell it.

    For those that dream of a 27" iMac, I hear you. But Apple has worked out that they can make boat loads more money selling you a Studio Display bundled with a Mac Studio. Let's not forget that until recently you could buy a 5K 27" iMac for the cost of what Apple now sells the display for on its own. Tim Cook certainly knows how wring out every last cent.

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra didn't beat the iPhone 13 Pro in camera test

    One of my friends, who happens to be black, was showing off his S23 Ultra to me today. He bought it for one simple reason, the iPhone takes pictures of him that are about on par with most other smartphones whereas the S23 Ultra takes pictures that really capture his skin tone and features.

    I have to admit, eye balling pictures he'd taken on his Samsung vs a recent picture I had taken on my iPhone that he did look better on the Samsung Pictures.

    Seriously... this Intel laptop should already have a lock on "Dumbest computing product of 2023." Who would pay $4,000 for a laptop with bleeding edge performance that turns to shite the moment you unplug it?! A laptop with none of the mobility of a laptop. 

    Presumably those that want the ultimate performance that they can get in a mobile form. You're basically getting deskptop performance in a laptop package, yes, to get that performance you need to plug it in, but it saves you moving a massive tower and monitor around.

    There are people who will find value in this, I'm not one of them, but I accept that the "best" is subjective and is not necessarily a MacBook Pro.

    Such a shame they didn’t add a mini speaker to the remote so that you could ask Siri to find it for you.

    Yes, I’m aware that there are some brilliant neat freaks out there who carefully pack away the remote the second they stop using it. But I’ve got two young kids plus a wife where the thought of putting it somewhere safe seems to be an alien concept, chuck in two bouncy border collies and the remote spends 90% of its time being lost. Thank god for the remote app on my iPhone.

    The standard iPhone 14 was always going to be a tough sell seeing as it's basically a rebadged iPhone 13 with some basic upgrades. 

    The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are far superior in many ways and around the same price point now that they have been discounted following the release of the 14 Pro models.

    Anyone with an ounce of knowledge who needs a new phone would therefore get the 14 Pro line or go for the 13 Pro Line if they want to save some cash.
