  • Sherlocked by Sequoia: What apps Apple may have killed in macOS and iOS 18

Have not downloaded the beta so not sure if the new password app is available for testing. The big issue with Apple’s implementation of passwords right now is that it uses the same login as the one to unlock my computer. Even if someone videotapes me logging into my phone or computer and then steals it, there is no way to access 1Password as it is set for FaceID or its own unique password. Same with my financial and investment accounts - none are set to use the iPhone unlock code. If Apple does not allow for this, I will stick with 1P.

  • Apple apologizes for iPad Pro 'Crush' ad after massive backlash

I would say it makes Apple look like they are in touch with their audience. Comes across as authentic and heartfelt and will end the issue which is what any company wants when they run into an issue. Apple came to look like IBM (crossed with Victoria Secret with their obsession on thinness) and this apology just does away with all that.

  • Apple's 'Crush' iPad Pro ad sparks intense backlash from creatives

Silly reactions like that only make me think creatives are a bunch of crybaby wimps.  Chin up and be a man!  It's an ad made for shock value.  If anything, it worked by waking sleeping people up and capturing their attention.  Capturing attention is the aim of any great ad.  It clearly succeeded.  But had it been something more soothing to fondle the delicate sensibilities of those ever complaining creatives, it probably would have only worked to put them all to sleep.  And people would have then complained that Apple isn't exciting enough.  In the end, the moral is clear.  PEOPLE NEED TO ZIP THE LIP AND STOP COMPLAINING!  That alone would make this world a vastly better place.
Whines the guy who is so thin skinned about any criticism of Apple. Should take his own advice and ZIP THE LIP AND STOP COMPLAINING!

  • Despite Apple pushback, Oregon has passed its right-to-repair bill banning parts pairing

Well done Oregon! Look forward to seeing more States take similar steps for the benefit of consumers.

Joe Biden needs to go. I am sorry but I am not usually political but this guy is ridiculous
This started two years into the Trump administration.
Sure did! Biden erased many of Trump's initiatives.
    - Why not this one?!
    - What's the angle?
    - Does the administration hate Apple that much that they are looking for Any reason to knock an American company?

I appreciate the perspective of nudging Apple to change, but the ridiculous part is using a lawsuit to extract - what? extraction concessions? extract cash? - from Apple.

Why not this one?  Maybe because the executive branch should not attempt to interfere with the judicial branch.  Biden would be rightly criticized if he did attempt to interfere.  Let the lawsuit play out on its merits, or lack thereof.

Additionally, the former President is arguing in a case that SCOTUS has agreed to hear that a President can do whatever they want without anyone being able to do anything about it. If that is the case then the current President can do whatever HE wants to do too and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it either. Silly I know but it it applies to one then it applies to the other. In fact, Biden could just forgo the whole court case and jump to splitting Apple up. Again, ridiculous but that is where this silliness goes.
