  • AirPods are no longer cool, claim people who can't afford them

AirPods are cool insist people who found they spent $175 for AirPods that sound like $20 headphones and are ashamed and outraged to have just found out that they are no longer cool and wasted $155! I have a pair of JHA Roxanne’s IEM’s and no Bluetooth one size fits all is ever going to provide the same comfort and sound quality. It all depends on where you are in life, how much you have to spend and what you like. Class warfare comes to Appleinsider …

  • Some iPhone apps handing precise location data to as many as 40 businesses

I have an app, Robinhood, that apprears to track my data with no way to turn it off in location services. When I travel and return home, when I swipe up on the app to close it, it will say “Welcome Home” on the bottom of the phone screen. Reported it to Apple but the behavior continues and there is nothing in location services that lets me turn it off.

  • Controversial Humane Ai Pin is here, costs $700, and requires a subscription

Seems some think it threatening enough to bash it.  I find it fascinating and love that a company is exploring new ideas. It is a lot more functional than strapping a great big mask on your face as Meta and Apple are convinced we all want to. Got my Apple Watch on v7 and don’t find it all that great so I will reserve judgement on apples AR and on this and see what v8 or 9 has to offer.

  • EU antitrust chief & Apple foe Margrethe Vestager out after 10 years

As we won’t take on big tech here in the U.S. it is good to see that the EU has taken the lead to do so. As I do with my computer, I should have full control to download applications to my phone without mother hen Cook. Like any business, it is to protect their revenue stream from selling the apps from their store. I am guessing if it was Google or Meta or Microsoft, many here would be in full support of her actions but feel the need to defend the poor struggling startup, Apple, running out of someone’s garage and is just so unfairly being crushed by the EU.

I’m sure that patronising attempt to help the judge reach her decision will go down well.
It's not "patronizing" in a legal case because the parties are obligated to put everything on-the-record in the event of any appeal.

If you want to talk about legal stuff, go to law school first.
Yes, like all the other expert legal opinions posted here by lawyers! 🤷🏼‍♂️ Somehow I doubt that a search in DocketBird will reveal you to be any great legal scholar ….

  • Procreate tells users, 'AI is not our future'

As an Apple site, why no mention Apple and their iPad  commercial crushing all the humanity out of art and music into computer generated art?

  • As you may expect, the internet already says that Apple's headset is doomed, apparently

Apparently you have no memory that Apple has produced its own fair share of failures. There were articles here about how the HomePod had the same market share as companies in the S&P and then they were gone. But, Cook is making noises that he wants to leave. But before he does, he needs a product he can call his own and they could spend to make sure that this is it. This whole idea has never made sense unless it was for gaming or health and no doubt many on this forum will run out a buy a Gen1 headset. Always a bad idea BTW unless you never open it and sell it 20 years from now at auction.

  • Apple rumored to be testing macOS for M2 iPad Pro

    wood1208 said:
Not happening. If Apple feels MacOS should be ported to iPad in whatever size/features version suitable for iPad then Apple will port on all iPads and remove iPadOS. Unless there is a MacOS for MAC and iPad; Apple not going to do half hazard job. Easily confuse consumer base.
Unless you have your own sources in Apple then how do you know?  You don’t. As for consumers being confused, the mishmash of iPads floating around right now seems to show that Apple thinks that consumers will somehow manage to navigate it all.

  • Apple could have sold me an iPhone SE 4, but it won't sell me the iPhone 16e

Reading your comments Amberneely, you should write more here. The humor is refreshing.

  • Sherlocked by Sequoia: What apps Apple may have killed in macOS and iOS 18

Have not downloaded the beta so not sure if the new password app is available for testing. The big issue with Apple’s implementation of passwords right now is that it uses the same login as the one to unlock my computer. Even if someone videotapes me logging into my phone or computer and then steals it, there is no way to access 1Password as it is set for FaceID or its own unique password. Same with my financial and investment accounts - none are set to use the iPhone unlock code. If Apple does not allow for this, I will stick with 1P.
