  • TikTok has shut itself down in the US ahead of January 19 deadline.

Other than suspicions has anyone ever delivered actual proof of any PRC security violations involving TikTok? Relying on Trump, the originator of the entire jihad, is sAd.
PRC is a total dictatorship that maintains an adversarial stand against the West.  Even if the PRC is not tapping into the TikTok network and  database right now, there is no institutional roadblock, such as an independent judiciary, that would stop Dictator Xi if he decides that he wants data from TikTok.

China doesn't allow US-based social apps to conduct business in China because he doesn't trust the NSA and CIA.  Why should we trust Chinese social apps then, given that the Chinese security apparatus has even less institutional oversight than the NSA and CIA?

The fact that China doesn't seem to have tapped TikTok for intel and mass manipulation doesn't mean that they can't or won't.

Yet it's perfectly okay for US based social media companies to do it though isn't it? And they've already been caught doing it and basically just got a slap on the wrist. It's perfectly okay for US based social media companies to store and sell your data to the highest bidder and god knows what they'll do it with it. It could still end up in the Chinese Government's hands in the end.

  • Asus ProArt Display 5K review: 27-inch Retina for a bargain

Looks like a cheap POS to me. I guess it's okay if you have a PC and don't care about anything. The Apple display is brighter and looks better overall. I'd just rather spend the money for the Apple Display. This just reminds me of the 5K LG display from a few years back.

I would honestly just wait for an updated version of the 27" Apple Studio Display.

  • New Parallels update trials x86 Linux & Windows VMs on Apple Silicon

I would love to see x86/x64 support. As someone who uses a 14" M4M MacBook Pro at work and also needs access to Active Directory I currently have to RDP into a Windows PC to access AD as Microsoft doesn't support RSAT Tools for ARM.

  • Apple employees fired over charity donation matching fraud

Imagine losing your great job that you worked your ass off for, working at a great company in an amazing state of the art building for something so stupid. It's not like Apple doesn't already pay them well. People are just dumb! SMH
