iPhone 17 Air's battery life could be the shortest in years
Even if it is true, you have to give something somewhere. Where the hell is the battery going to go in something that thin. The only thing Apple can really do is try to make the logic board as small as possible so they can put as long and wide of a battery as possible. I think the neat thing about something like that challenge is it helps the other phones in the future because they'll have to develop new technology to make something like this all work which they can then eventually put into other iPhones. -
iPhone fold: All the rumors about Apple's first foldable, and when it might launch
Unless Apple can figure out a way to make a folding phone actually useful I couldn't care less if it ever comes out. Otherwise, to me it's just a gimmick, trying to be cool to get someone to buy your product but in the end it's just a phone that folds with no real value to the folding part. It also presents more points of failure for the phone. There's only so many folds before something wears out and breaks. I feel like mobile phones today are just really mature products and there isn't a hell of a lot more you can do with them so there's all of these gimmicky things like folding phones, camera controls on the side of the phone, the action button, etc which sound cool in a keynote presentation but in the real world aren't as useful as presented. Sure you'll have a few people who love it and swear by it but the vast majority of users don't really give a shit about them. They just use it like a regular iPhone as if it didn't have those features. -

Lighter Apple Vision Pro expected by early 2026
CarmB said:Who wants a pricey, heavy Apple Vision, Pro or otherwise? No consumer wants to pay more and be less comfortable. I can see a move to bring weight down to allow for a standalone premium Vision and then deliver both lower price and weight with a tethered version for the masses. Considering a capable Mac Mini can be had for well below $1,000, even if you had someone without a Mac to tether to, it might well be cheaper to get said Mini in tandem with the lower-cost Vision. Meanwhile there is an installed base of Mac owners who would be attracted to a far more affordable Vision that could be linked up with an existing Mac. Getting a tethered Vision in at a far more attractive price would be a game changer.
Everyone is just way too god damn impatient and think everything Apple releases today needs to have the success of the iPhone of today straight out of the box, when even the original iPhone wasn't as successful as the iPhone of today. The MacBook Air is another good example. It was awesome for what it was in its original form, but was too expensive (cost upwards of $2100) and feature limited. Today, it's much cheaper, has great features for its intended market and is one of the best selling laptops, not only in the US, but the entire world!
I would give AVP a few more years to mature, get VisionOS updated with more features and fixes, with a lower price it could be a successful product in the future. Too many people are taking the Steve Ballmer approach on this and don't see the same vision (no pun intended) as Apple does for this product.
