  • Apple Music rolls out to Tesla cars in holiday software update

We finally got our Model Y in August after waiting 11 months from order date.  It’s the first new car we’ve ever owned. It’s amazing, but would like to have CarPlay on it.  If Rivian is a better car then buy it, but to me it’s idiotic to make (or cancel) a car purchase because of any person at the company.
To be fair, Musk isn’t just “any person at the company”, he is the face of the company. From what I can tell he seems to be a fairly loud-voiced and opinionated face of the company.  He also seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

To me it’s similar to that person that cuts me off in traffic while driving a vehicle that has their company name on it.  I’ll remember that Chris’ Custom Closets guy cut me off and when it’s time to redo my closet I won’t be calling them.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least to hear that Musk said something in an interview or on Twitter that really annoyed a potential customer and then that potential customer decided to go with another brand.
My point was that regardless of the person, even the CEO, if the product is worth buying then buy it. Otherwise you’re just putting the stick in your own eye. I didn’t avoid Disney because Chapek is an idiot.

I drove 430 miles yesterday afternoon to night in the Model Y. It took about 8.5 hours with all charging and bathroom stops, averaging about 74mph while on the road. What other electric vehicle can you do that with today (or likely even in 2 years)? The Lucid Air certainly can’t do that on one charge at interstate highway speeds.
The honeymoon with your Tesla will be over eventually....

Great! Now get into the 21st century and support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This should never not exist on any car sold today as new.

How about iMacs? Just bought a iMac 24" which is made in Thailand. Unfortunately the worker forgot to pack the USB-C to lightning cable in the box.Is this included in the quality of manufacturing? LOL
If you bought it in the last 90 days, or have AppleCare, call AppleCare's toll-free (800-275-2273) and they will make it right for you. 100%
I bought from LA Computer because it has a $200 off sale. I called them first. They ask me to call Apple. Apple post sale won't do it. It said it only handle sales from Apple. I called back LA Computer. They mailed one to me. My question is will this iMac has one year warranty from Apple? Or I have to call LA Computer if it crashes?
The warranty on the Mac is valid at any Apple Authorized Service Center that can service Macs. It goes by serial number. Your initial issue with the missing cable wasn't a warrantable issue as nothing was broken. If you're within the window, you can even purchase AppleCare+ for it. It doesn't matter where you bought it.

  • Apple will not buy Disney, no matter how often it hears that it will

I still think Apple should buy Disney. Apple pisses away so many opportunities to buy good companies and then someone else ends up buying them. Apple purchasing Disney would benefit both companies, both short term and long term. Sure Apple doesn't need to buy Disney just to have an agreement with them but long term someone else could just scoop Disney up and that agreement goes away. Apple could get Disney+ which I think it needs as well as all of the Disney IP along with ESPN, ABC and Disney/Pixar along with everything else Disney Entertainment. Disney gets Apple's leadership and funding which it badly needs. Disney isn't exactly in financial greatness if you follow them close enough. They've purchased a lot over the years and really haven't gotten a lot out of their investments. Now they're kinda hurting for money to use those investments.

Disney parks while yes is not Apple's strong suit, can also just let someone in that area run it so they don't have to worry about it. Comcast, NBC/Universal does this with Universal Parks. It's not like the CEO of Comcast or NBC/Universal manages Universal Parks and Resorts worldwide. They have a complete separate Parks division of NBC/Universal with its own CEO, COO, etc to do that. Yes, the CEO of NBC/Universal does pay attention to what they're doing as a whole and determines funding for its projects but it's not an all day everyday thing for him to manage.

Also, Disney Parks while popular is actually extremely low on the totem pole in terms of revenue and profits. It's Disney entertainment is where Disney makes all of its money from not its parks division. The same goes for NBC/Universal. Universal Parks yes makes money and quite a bit and has a great ROI, but their profits are no where near the profits of NBC and Universal's TV/Movie industry. So what I'm saying is Disney Parks doesn't need to be a top priority for Apple. Apple just needs to put good people in charge of it just like NBC/Universal has and that will take care of itself.

People seem to always associate Disney strictly with DisneyWorld or DisneyLand but Disney as a company is way more than just Disney Parks and Resorts.

  • Microsoft cranks up entire Surface line with new Intel processors

I hope they've improved them from what they were before. In my experience, the Surface is the biggest overpriced piece of shit ever. We tried to use them at work and nothing but issues from the keyboards, overheating, graphics card issues, their shitty docking stations, and they have shit support. They're certainly not worth the price.
