Thanks for the informative (and your first post), TBeaubien. I found this very interesting. Snip from the post:

I get that it's an obvious feature to add since they can do it, it might be helpful for a full HUD, etc. but I'm going to immediately hide that. I think the use cases for calculating this by bouncing signals off satellites are pretty slim and they're not going to be instant such as any measurements based on the wheels in the car. Right now I run with a GPS watch and it drives me crazy when the instant speed read constantly (every few seconds) recalculates and the speed jumps all over the place if if satellites are obscured by buildings or even trees. It shows as too slow if it can't reach a satellite then compensates and suddenly gets way too fast when it reconnects and discovers I'm further down the course than expected. This just seems like an unnecessary and potentially very risky distraction.

I love the lead-in to this. Starts off with the proposition that "The new iPhone 15 Pro raises the bar once more for the high-end smartphone market, packing a ton of new and tempting features inside its lightweight titanium frame." And the opening point is summed up with "Apple is giving our littlest fingers a break."

I don't know. As beautiful as this looks I really hope we're not typing in spatial computing. The lack of physical feedback is problematic. We adjusted with screen/glass keyboards by shifting to thumbs. I don't think we're going to be touch-typing in this new space.

Just to be clear, though, a Toyota made and then sold in the U.S. isn't an American car. A Tesla Model 3 that rolls out of Tesla Giga Shanghai isn't a Chinese car. An iPhone is assembled in China but for trade purposes it's a U.S. phone.
