  • Apple launches new Pride music page celebrating LGBTQ+ artists

I like Classical music, asked Apple Music not to suggest Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, Country, etc., and apparently it takes that to mean that I *really* want to see those when I browse, particularly Rap.  I don't need to see their curated political cause-of-the-month stuff either - is there any way to not get this other content pushed constantly other than unsubscribing?
Is this "political cause-of-the-month stuff" because it's about Pride, or are you against every promotion? Do you like Black History Month in Apple Music, for example, or should it be hidden from you because you haven't specifically chosen to receive such an event? Must there be a switch for every event they want to promote so you can go into the Settings and turn them all off?

You don't have to listen to the Pride playlists, etc. No one is forcing you. Apple are a global company and their customers are diverse. By specifically excluding things like Pride month, they would be specifically excluding some of their customers. There is nothing wrong with Apple promoting Pride month. This is just you not wanting to see it at all.

  • Hands On: Aurum-Edition Apple Watch is a $6,000 24-karat timepiece

Spending seven digits on a watch is stupid, and that's true whether you spend it on an Apple watch or one of those ridiculous Swiss mechanical watches that for some stupid reason (marketing) are still being built in 2021
Those same Swiss mechanical watches that work decades after they were released, and don't get made obsolete because they can't install the latest software update?

I have a Seiko Kinetic watch I got in 2004. It still works perfectly well 17 years later. Sure, it doesn't tell me how many steps I've done, but I seem to have managed from 2004 to 2015 without needing to know that. I wear it now once I've completed my daily rings, which means it looks good when I'm out at night at a restaurant or bar.

  • Expedia chairman attacks Apple's 'disgusting' 30% commission fee

Diller ... compared Apple's 30% fee to a credit card company, which would take a fee of around 2% on transactions. "It's irrational, 30%. I mean, it makes no sense," he insisted.
The credit card company takes 2% because they're only doing the transaction. What about all the other stuff, like hosting the apps, marketing, employing people to review apps, paying for bandwidth, paying for R&D, paying for the tools the developers use? Add it all up, and it's not as though 2% would cover it.

This guys should've kept quiet, because now that I'm reading about Expedia's business model and how they make their money, I'm not gonna use them.

  • Google opening first permanent physical retail store in New York City

Customers will be required to wear masks and sanitize their hands upon entering, and the store staff will limit the amount [of] customers who can enter the store at one time.
    Oh, I don't think that'll be a problem.

  • CPSC calls Peloton Tread+ a danger to children and pets

I don't think just adding a rear guard to this model will fix the problem. As I've said above, the belt is raised so high off the ground that such a guard would have to go from the back and all the way underneath. It would only take that pink ball from the video to go a little past a normal rear guard for it to be pulled under.

The fix here is either to lower the belt AND add a rear guard, or stop shipping this design.

And, Peloton should apologise, and improve their product design.
