You need to think of what applications will run on this before jumping to conclusions over a chip. Vision headsets use multitasking which for architectural reasons is more the M series domain.

Any corporate IT department worth their salt would block the use of iPhone mirroring from corporate Macs for the time being (I’m guessing there’s a profile setting for that). It’s in effect mounting an unknown device which despite it being an iPhone should be treated with deep suspicion. 

This was surely inevitable as the launch of Apple Intelligence needs credible desktop and laptop targets. 

Much as this is an interesting project, a compromised boot loader being an attack vector, I would only think about doing this on a burner account. Keep your real-world data away from a machine modified in this way. 

I’m left scratching my head wondering how Cupertino could ever have pitched this or Apple ever signed on to it, surely this was a massive red flag for their auditors. It’s so obviously wrong and illegal. I’m very surprised to state didn’t try harder to claw back revenue due to other localities; perhaps it would have just been too hard compared with the benefit.
