‘Holographic’ here might refer to the glass having an embedded hologram of a mirror which with the right geometry provides high levels of reflection for a rear projected off-axis display, something which can’t be done with half-silvered glass. Although I’ve only seen this monochromatically, I would guess the technology has advanced to colour. 

Not a peculiar move at all. Trial the new modem with phones at the fringe edges of sales volume. Less liability if something goes awry.

Google does have YouTube, where user content can be shared, but direct interactions with specific people are not a strong point.  I would not call it a "social media platform" in the vein of a Facebook or Snapchat. Not that they haven't tried.

Hardly an expanded viewpoint, just a restatement of previous positions. What I’m unclear about is why Apple and any other company does t simple use on-device CSAM to block attempts to transfer CSAM off-device (messaging. backup, etc). Wouldn’t that thwart the perpetrators without getting into the argument about encryption back-doors? And to that point I’m saddened how law enforcement uses protection of children as their attack vector on necessary security, it is very disingenuous as once a back door is made, it’s side open for any purpose.

I don’t think this is right. Apple correctly pushed antivirus software out of kernel space into user space. Microsoft has not done that. If there was a reason that Microsoft did not do this because it would put third-party antivirus providers at a competitive disadvantage compared with Microsoft, it’s because their own antivirus still runs in kernel space.
