Apple lowers holiday quarter guidance on lower than expected iPhone sales
Expect the share price to dive when markets open tomorrow.
I posted earlier about the ridiculous pricing of the latest iPads as an example. The iPhone is just as bad. Their greed is catching up with them.
So unit sales are down, and now revenue is a chunk below their own forecast too (not even the analysts can be blamed here). Increasing the prices to stupid levels only hurts the customer base in the long run.
It certainly put be off off upgrading my old MacBook Pro and iPad. -
iPhone production unfazed by injunctions, predictions of bad holiday quarter in doubt

Apple's $62.9 billion stock buyback program called a bad investment in new report
I guess the intention was that the buybacks would reduce the shares in circulation and thus the remaining shares would be of higher value.
It it would also reduce the amount paid out in dividends.
What they didnt factor in was the share price collapse. So shareholder value hasn’t exactly worked out well for those who hung onto their shares after they peaked at $227. A multitude of mistakes on Apples part and a series of timed articles to pull the stock down.
People on these forums say the analysts and WSJ don’t get it , and the stock is manipulated. Etc etc. The truth however is that they do get it.. the world isn’t fair and that the word of the media and analysts do indeed manipulate the stock, but that’s just normal and they leverage it to make money. No surprise there. Expect to be played if investing in stock. If you make money, chances are it’s only because some other heavy weight players are.

Apple's Dan Riccio responds to bent iPad Pro reports, says device 'meets or exceeds' produ...
So Apple are doubling down on the mantra that it’s ok. Not acceptable to tell that to someone who just bought a bent iPad from you ! Or what about to those outside the 14 day return window?
There is a picture over at macrumours that shows an iPad Pro sitting on a table with a visible curvature to it (same story as here). I would be gutted if that was mine and Apple declined to change it since they seem to think its not a defect.
The big question is whether they can get worse over time (ie after your free 14 day return period etc so they can literally turn around and say YOU bent it , or just NOT a defect.)
Their stock dropped to $152 today. Down 33% now. Not because of this apparently but still , this is just fuel for the fire. -
Apple says some 2018 iPad Pro units ship with bent chassis, not considered a defect
The are additional photos on the verge website too showing even more bent ones. I recently held an iPad Pro and thought the engineering was stunning.. but this puts me off completely.
Bent at out of the box. Unacceptable.
Bent after a couple of weeks. Unacceptable.
My my iPad air 2 isn’t bent in the slightest after a few years now. Apple has dropped the ball here (on PR and engineering by the looks of it)
