  • Long-rumored Apple Silicon iMac Pro still in the works, but not coming soon

The truly “Pro” all-in-one has a lot of appeal. My agency clients invested in the original iMac Pro. Since pandemic time I haven’t spent much time on-site with clients, but one of them provided me an iMac Pro with their VPN software installed to access their network remotely to streamline our remote contracting relationship. It’s a great machine, considering it’s age & intel components. A new design using Apple Silicon would likely rekindle l my agency clients’ interest.

  • Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, lose million music subscribers in UK

And those subscribers aren’t coming back either - they are finished… I wish Apple would just give me back iTunes the way it was… People are getting sick of the subscription based services. They want to have ownership of the products they buy… if they don’t upgrade, then they don’t have the latest feature, but at least they still have what they have paid for to date… I avoid subscription based services and products and will even settle for a inferior product if that product is a one time cost pricing model. Look at how that greed has killed Adobe… people can’t get away from those products fast enough now… and they are. But thats what Wall Street influenced companies do and have happen to them… deservingly so.
I don't disagree with you in theory, I am over everything is a subscription, but music is one area I don't mind since so much new stuff comes out and for the cost of a couple albums a year I can have almost everything Your comments about adobe are just be flat out wrong though.

The rumors of Adobe’s demise are greatly exaggerated. I am a pro user of Adobe software and I have never been happier. I’m not sure about the view from the cheap seats, but for those of use who make a living with Creative Cloud, times are good.

  • Apple's Mac Studio launches with new M1 Ultra chip in a compact package

They put shit on the front. I can’t believe it. They said it couldn't be done!

My next Mac, for sure. This covers all the pro users who have been buying burly iMacs for the last 10 years. I’m one of these. Those for whom a Mac Pro is overkill, but wish to avoid buying a new monitor with every update to the computing device.

I’m sure there will be complaints about the lack of internal expansion. I’m choosing to look at the glass overflowing with performance out-of-the-box. They make Mac Pro for the tinkerers. This one is for us. The non-tinkering pros. Not a contradiction in terms, Apple even made us our own special Mac.

  • Rio Arc review: An elegant HomeKit-connected heater to keep you warm this winter

Do you have any thoughts on how this compares to the other line of HomeKit heaters on their website?

Not paying much attention to the content of the vaccine discussion, but trying to reel this discussion back on topic:

lately my most successful  individual stock purchases have been BNTX & MRNA (BioNTech & Moderna). MRNA technology has been in development for a long time and COVID has been it’s coming out party. For a version 1.0 product (or as discussed above, maybe a Beta product) it has been quite successful. These companies are delivering their first high-profile products based on this tech. The scientists think this tech has many other health applications that are not well served by traditional med tech.

Reminds me of a certain fruit company and it’s disruption of the PC industry.
Haha, it definitely came off the rails quickly on this thread. From quarterly earnings to vaccine passports in the blink of an eye. Anyway, thanks for trying to bring us back on topic. And cheers to you…you’re having a pretty nice month, yes? Those are some good looking ascending triangles you’re holding there.
It has been been a nice ride. Fortunately for me, I was rolling over an old 401(k) account this year just as I realized the most successful COVID vaccines had been made (or designed in BioNTech/Pfiizer's case) by virtual start-ups with, presumably, a lot of growth potential. 🤞🏼
