  • iMac Pro is 'currently unavailable' from Apple in the US, Canada [u]

Great. Now let’s get back to making the iMac all it can be.

    Would love to see:

    1) hefty cpuGPU core counts with architecture improvements.

    2) massive amounts of RAM.

    3) ultrawide screen of 34 inches or greater. It’s time. Everyone loves ultrawide.

If Apple really wants to make an enduring splash with the new Mac of Macs, it’s time to show the world how ultrawide is done.

And while you’re at it... make it touch capable. I’d rather not have to use a Microsoft surface to control concert lighting...

    4) colors: silver, space, gray, blue, gold, green, and brilliant white.

    5) a minimal and industrial design aesthetic.

How about just upgradable ram and an upgradable hard drive (or a place to add a 2nd HD/SSD

personally, I’d rather not have a touch screen - a touch screen on an iMac isn’t really convenient and just leaves fingerprints all over the beautiful screen.
The 27" iMac has upgradable RAM, and I hope the new iMacs keep this feature.

HD/SSD upgrade without having to remove the screen would be nice too...

If, for whatever reason, the SSD ends up being soldered in, I like your idea of having a place to add a 2nd SSD. Perhaps a removable panel to provide access to an area that would allow attaching a Thunderbolt drive inside. Or, given that SDUC-I Express cards can have SSD speed and capacity, maybe two SD slots--one external and one internal (you wouldn't want to inadvertently eject an SD card being used as an SSD). Frankly, I doubt either of these would happen, but we can dream, can't we?
Why do this when you can just have and external SSD that you can boot from?  The is an iMac not a portable.

  • YouTuber builds 'first' Apple Silicon iMac using old iMac & M1 Mac mini

This is NOT the first attempt: Mac G5 upgraded to iMac M1 using a MacMini M1 logic board (Jan 10, 2021). That earlier version seems to avoid some of the issues that the later one does (USB-A and USB-C ports actually work)

  • Arizona bill that could force Apple App Store to allow third-party payments one step close...

So what does this mean? Could a decision in one state end up affecting the whole world?
It may mean nothing since Apple is an interstate company putting it under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution which states "[The Congress shall have power] To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;"  The Federal courts or FTC could through this law out the window if it is passed.

  • Apple says Developer Transition Kit must be returned by March 31

The quoted hyperlink to Troughton-Smith's Twitter post above is dead. The post no longer exists.

There is something fishy about this.
The US dollar is worth less than when Europeans bought the kit so a refund in dollars means they are getting less of a return on the initial purchase price than Americans. I'm not sure how they arrived at 100+ Euros but there is a difference. From personal experience, Apple products also cost more in Europe.
I checked and the kit was 500 USD NOT €500 so there was a conversion on the loan

According to Google, on July 30, 2020 the conversion rate from $ to € was 0.84 (€420) while in on 27 Feb 2021 it is 0.83 (€415). So they are crying over €5 or 6.04 USD.

So they are crying over the equivalent of less then two 4 piece Mcdonlald's Chicken McNuggets Happy meals!  (around 7 USD)

As I said before how does that make any sense or cents?!

  • Apple increases scrutiny of 'irrationally high' app prices

You do realize that if Epic gets its way this will all become moot, right?
It will not be moot — indeed, the ongoing problem of scam apps will become front and center if Epic wins. Apple’s apparently increasing efforts to counter abuse can be seen as preparation for negotiating/defining the terms for regulating third-party app stores. Epic itself and other legitimate developers with actual customers won’t have any difficulty complying, but fraud is a different story.
"Fraud" in the digital space seems to be a totally different animal than anywhere else.  More over Epic convincing the developers of games that obtained their kickstarter money by promising to bed on Steam at launch only to become Epic exclusives, would anywhere else, be considered bait and switch which is considered a type of fraud.  The fact Epic shelled out refunds like crazy over the whole Shenmue 3 fiasco shows they know things are not a simple as they would like people to believe.
