  • Apple rumored to release 27-inch iMac with mini-LED display in early 2022

"Just" wrap the new MBP display in a standalone shell. Plenty of people would be happy with that.
Not sure how big the market is for a 16” standalone display. Those were popular in the early 2000’s, but people buy 24-32” external display now, and bigger.

  • Apple TV+ 'Invasion' promoted with poorly executed Twitch campaign

While viral advertising could be considered a break-out form of marketing, it's only really a success if people are talking about it.”

You wrote an article about it.

  • Intel CEO hopes to win back Apple with a 'better chip'

It’s cute that he thinks Intel can outcompete Apple’s silicon efforts when they’re still digging the foundations for their chip fabs.

But even if Intel could somehow produce a better chip in the next 15-20 years, Apple won’t be interested. They don’t want someone else’s chip technology. They want to design their own custom silicon to match their strategic roadmap.

Apple’s done with Intel’s chips, and for its own sake Intel needs to move on and stop acting like a clingy ex.

  • Apple Search Ads grows during App Tracking Transparency push

The analysis, and this article, makes the mistake of assuming Apple is pulling in more usage as a result of its increase in % market share.

Apple's Search Ads have seen a dramatic rise in usage, becoming responsible for 58% of all iPhone app downloads, versus 17% one year ago.”

Just because Apple’s share of the pie has increased so dramatically, it doesn’t mean that usage has increased. It’s far more likely that the pie has simply gotten smaller.

People likely aren’t clicking on Apple’s search ads more today than they were last year as a result of ATT. It’s just that the mobile ad market as a whole has shrunk now that Apple’s cut off a key part of it.

So yes, Apple undoubtably enjoys a greater share of what’s left. And yes, there’s absolutely debate to be had about whether that’s fair. But it doesn’t mean Apple’s ad usage is increasing. .
