I would rather an unexpected shutdown than an unexpected explosion. 

I am not sure why a laptop has to be equal to or outperform a desktop. I am not in the content creation field in any way and know full well my ignorance in this area. 

If it is indeed for thinness that this is happening- I never remember anyone complaining how thick the last MacBook pros were. I have zero complaints about mine thickness-wise; put in the 32gb (or more) and slap in a larger battery if needed (and that sd card reader).

do you mean presages? does it have to be negative? I would have thought it was a good sign what with the event coming.

I paid $100 for the beats solo 2 wireless for the educational promotion. they are really quite nice (not an audiophile). but after 366 days they went all wonky on me. I called apple they said I only just missed the window so they would take a look at them in their repair facility. they could not fix them so they sent me two, (two!) working ones as a replacement. It was not a mistake as they were both sent in the same box. Both of those are sold now to pay for the new solo 3 wireless and some leftover.  40 hours, easy connectivity. 

I hope no source code goes over with them. what would stop the chinese government from going in and confiscating the computers on some bull charge?
