M4 Mac mini may have a USB-C connectivity problem
I have some USB-C speakers I plug into the back of my Mac mini that are doing that. I noticed it happened mostly when I would use my AirPods in the mornings before everyone got up, and tried to switch back. Sound would be coming from the Mini and not the speakers. The only way to fix would be to unplug and replug them in. I then ran a second USB-C to the speakers PD port to essentially 'power' them, but I still find that it will fall back to the internal speakers at odd times (after sleep, first use in the morning, after using AirPods), but then in the last week, I haven't had any issues. -

Storage firm Drobo has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
My problem with Drobo was sub-par hardware. I had both the 5N and 5N2, and BOTH of them suffered from defective fans within a year. The 5N I didn't have any support on, so just 'lived with it', and when opted for support on the 5N2 that replaced if. Within a year, it was also squealing and grinding. They replaced it, and within 15 days the new one was doing it and they told me "We already replaced it once, we won't do it again".So I ditched them altogether and went to Synology and picked one of their NAS devices that had user replaceable fans, and just a more expansive interface. I haven't been disappointed.Honestly, if the level of hardware and support I received is indicative, this isn't surprising news.
