Well, Prime Video for Apple TV is here, it works, except that I cannot get subtiles ! This is a big let down for me.
However, checking the supported devices on Amazon site, subtiles are supposed to be supported on Apple TV (can be checked here)
I tried rebooting the Apple TV to no effect. I checked "Menu > Settings > Apps" but the app is not even listed, there are no Prime Video specific settings, none!
Within the app, there is a "Settings" tab, but nothing there concerning the hardware device being used.
So if subtiles are supported on Apple TV, HOW do we get them?

Apple developing tamper-proof camera indicator for AR headset privacy
You have valid points… I also have my doubts that the system will be perfect, just like I have doubts that there will ever be a perfect self-driving car !But a given system doesn’t have to be perfect to be of great value. You will never be able to stop a dedicated user with the proper skills and means to discretely record you… but if a system prevents the vast majority of casual users from surreptitiously recording me, I’m already happy !As for how to differentiate between the lights from 20 others devices around you, that’s relatively easy to solve, by correlating the modulated transmitted light with the one received, the system can recognize its own…The absence of reflected light…? Also solvable I think… Preventing recording only matters in close proximity, and the focussing system of a camera is already able to determine the distance to objects…The algorithm will just have to block recording if both a close subject is present AND the special light component absent…
Thanks Apple for caring about details not directly linked to profits ! -

Apple touts ad attribution tools following App Tracking Transparency rollout
robin huber said:The article on how to enable the new ad tracking function on AI is confusing to me. Apple’s own dialogue in Settings is no help either. Unfortunately there is no comments feature on the article so I am asking here. If I don’t want to be tracked, do I turn the toggle on or off? I am guessing that I leave it off, and by turning it on the app can ask me to opt in to being tracked. Am I right?I wish the option were like “Block advertisers etc…”, to be turned on, and on by default. And how do we know it’s working? I wish I could be receive positive information that an app requested private info but iOS denied it. -
Next-gen Apple TV could output 120Hz video, beta code suggests
CheeseFreeze said:I see zero use for an AppleTV now I have the Apple TV+ app on my Samsung TV.
What is the device’s purpose other than supporting users that don’t have such a smart TV yet?The device’s purpose is obvious to me. I use it for what it does without having to use the “smarts” from a party other than Apple. So, quite the opposite for me, it is the “smart part” of a TV that I find useless. Not all smart TV owners accept to connect it to the Internet! (especially one from samsung).I own a smart TV because that’s all you can find these days. What I really want is a TV that has good image quality at a good price, but that is as dumb as possible!I just couldn’t find one! I suspect the smarts of a TV are seen by the manufacturer not as extra cost, but extra profit by its ability to invade your privacy.I’m fine with Apple TV and love it. In addition to the above, I’m very happy not to have to use those complex TV remotes. I do everything with Apple remote (either Siri remote, or an iPhone), including turning on/off the TV -
