  • Apple's iCloud Private Relay feature not available in Belarus, China, Uganda, other countr...

How shocking that a private American corporation should be required to comply with the laws of another - OMG - sovereign nation.  Who needs that - our corporations and our government should of course dictate how every other country should handle their internal affairs. We know best for everyone!

  • Seven Apple suppliers linked to Chinese forced labor programs

Yes, the Uyghur forced labor allegations do appear to be another “WMD” “Steele Dossier” politically and ideologically motivated attack.  I’ve read many articles tracing the actual sources of these allegations and they go back to anti-communist and Taiwan separatist groups and individuals and an uncritical mainstream media that seems intent on magnifying US policies of demonizing nations that don’t toe the US line.  It’s like WMD and Russian Collusion and many similar scenarios where vague and ambiguous “links” and “possible” evidence then are repeated until they become accepted fact in US media.  No Lynch mobs, please.

  • Apple CEO Tim Cook tapped to advise President Trump's 'Office of American Innovation'

BTW - some commenters seem to mistake the concept with running the government like and efficient business with privatizing the government.  I don't favor privatization generally, but having worked in the government, I sure would like to see it run more like Apple.  Not that many or even most corporations don't have problems with "efficiency" and corruption!

I hope he accepts.  You don't influence those you disagree with by calling them names.  You influence them by getting to know them and speaking with them.  You don't agree with everything someone says when you agree to sit down and talk with them.

  • Apple uses platform dominance to 'lock out' competition, says Elizabeth Warren

I used to think Warren was the great progressive promise but she has lost me completely.  First, she trots around with Killary, one of the worst and most sinister net-liberals since Slick Willie, and now she targets Apple as if she had any idea about the complex antitrust issue she is talking about.  I've been an antitrust lawyer for over 30 years, and it is fundamental to the free enterprise system that if you become a dominant competitor through investment and innovation, you reap the rewards.  Exclusionary conduct, abuse of monopoly power,  is a very complex and difficult concept and difficult to prove.  As a general matter, Apple's restrictions that she cites appear intended to protect the ecosystem Apple built.  It can be harsh on potential competitors, but unless Apple's conduct cannot be justified as competitive, and is shown to be unnecessarily exclusionary, it is untouchable, and should be.  Apple came out of nowhere to be the dominant player in phones, tablets, music and related apps.  It's product and brand is fundamentally based on a tight ecosystem and quality that it controls to generate and retain its competitive edge.  Warren is looking more and more like a neo-liberal and less and less like a progressive.  Goodbye Killary and EW!
