VW chief 'not afraid' of 'Apple Car' entering the market
Apple Car is no threat to VW because it is a service not a product. The Apple Car will cost far too much for the average person to buy, however as a service anyone can afford to have one pull up in front of their home and take them where they want to go in style. Because you called the Apple Car on your iPhone (probably with Siri) it will arrive already set up for you with your play lists loaded and with Apple TV ready to continue playing your movie where you left off and already paired with your iPhone.
The real threat to VW is that consumers will stop buying automobiles entirely. -
Third-generation Apple TV to lose CBS All Access support in March
No big deal. That thing is super out of date now and so few people use it that you just can't expect streaming app developers to keep supporting it. I am not even sure if the current Xcode can build apps for the 3rd gen Apple TV. I tested mine recently and found that very few streaming apps still functioned even if they were officially supported. Crunchyroll for example was totally non-functional. Apple should declare it to be "vintage". -

$3,000 Apple mixed-reality visor could debut in 2022 with premium features
A $3000 price tag means the device is aimed at enterprise not consumers. This is fine except for one thing: Apple still lags far behind NVIDIA and AMD when it comes to graphics performance. For example, the M1 chip's integrated graphics are pretty decent but are only about 1/10th as fast as a typical gamer GPU. This really matters when it comes to mixed reality. An Apple M series chip could compete with the Oculus Quest 2 but not at ten times the price tag. Hopefully Apple has some amazing GPU chips that they are getting ready to announce in the next year and have plans for a consumer MR device in a few years. Of course by then the market will look completely different with new competitors with beefy hardware as well.
