Privacy and security updates to be a 'main focus' at WWDC 21, analyst says
As a user, you should not get too excited about the privacy and security features. Thus far those features have done far more to restrict what you are allowed to do with your devices than they have to actually protect your security. The fact that there are companies that will crack an iPhone security for a price is a good indication that this is more theater than actual user data security. The fact that a cop can grab your iphone and unlock it using your unwilling face is another good example of poor user security. Then there is the story that Apple used facial recognition to get the victim of identity theft arrested. Pardon me while I remain a bit skeptical of Apple's true motives. -

Apple currently limiting M1 iPad Pro apps to 5GB RAM each
fastasleep said:OutdoorAppDeveloper said:Apple gets to make all the decisions for how a customer can use their iOS devices. Why should RAM be any different? Apple firmly believes that people are just not smart enough to make decisions like "this app is really important to my work so it should be able to use all the RAM." or "I need to manage my personal network so I am going to let this app see the MAC addresses so it can track and identify the devices I have connected to it." You absolutely can't make a decision like "I don't like all of Apple's restrictions so I will install this third party App Store."
