  • Goldman Sachs may be trying to get out of its Apple Card deal

    Why is it bleeding?
Probably because banks make money on credit cards by charging late fees and high interest on customers who carry large balances and make the minimum payment. Keep  in mind, that a bank pays a fee to the company who processes the credit card transaction which in this case is Mastercard. Many Apple customers are more financially well-off and pay their entire balance off on-time. Good for Apple because of the incentives customers get on Apple products, but not so good for Goldman Sachs which likely loses money on every transaction.

  • Intel CEO Bob Swan stepping down, VMWare's Pat Gelsinger will take over

Excellent choice! Gelsinger is a long-time Intel executive, before going to VMWave, and will turn the ship around...

  • Intel under pressure to explore strategic options amid chip industry challenges

In spite of Intel's recent challenges (many self-inflicted), for a Hedge Fund CEO to call for 'to boost its position as a provider of chips for computers and data centers' seems like an empty statement. Intel already controls 90%+ of these markets and it seems when you have a commanding position you seek to diversify into other segments. GPU's would seem to be the most likely. Apple is to be applauded for the M1, however Apple's Mac sales account for a relatively small slice of the desktop/laptop market and 0.0% of the datacenter compute market. Thanks for the advice though  ;)

  • Google and Facebook allegedy working together to combat antitrust lawsuits

Seems like a pretty compelling case of collusion and price-fixing. Don't these people take their own Compliance training?  ;)

  • Oracle will move headquarters to Texas from California

Most employees will remain where they are or work from home. My own company, Dell, is based in Austin but has operations globally. This really doesn't change much. Companies will still pay state income taxes, on their local operations, and employees will still pay taxes in the state they reside. That said, I agree that California could take steps to make the state much more business friendly.
