This would be a welcome development in that a) 16GB is inadequate and b) there is no uSD memory expansion slot. Of course, I am not privy to Apple's supply chain but I would think supply of 32GB memory chips might have something to do with this switch...

Plenty of affordable 4K monitors on the market. While I would like to see Apple release a 4K (or 5K) monitor there are plenty of options on the market. Reminds me of when Apple abandoned printers. Users complained but found lots of suitable options...

Why would Apple spend a dime to support Trump? His trade policies would be disasterous for Apple's operations, in China, and Trump's rhetoric against woman and minorities are antithetical to Apple's values. Finally, Apple probably doesn't want to spend a dime on a candidate who is simply not qualified to be president let alone hold public office. Kudos to Tim Cook!

If true, this would be a good move on Apple's part...

Apple is still one of the largest, most profitable companies ever. The challenge is that investors demand growth and Apple's sales are not growing at the moment. I would imagine this is extra incentive to get their next generation products to market sooner than later and make sure they have a healthy pipeline of new products. Unfortunately, the iPad and Watch are not selling enough to make up for the decline in iPhone sales. Tim Cook is a very capable executive, but Steve Jobs was really the one who drove the company to bring innovative, new products to market. He simply cannot be replaced...
