  • 802.11ay Wi-Fi rumored for 'iPhone 12,' wireless charging for 'AirTag'

I wonder why? It's not like Wifi6 / 802.11ax isn't plenty fast enough - and then some, by orders of magnitude - for a phone.

802.11ay isn't finished yet (note: This is not the successor to Wifi 6), and while it is even faster, it also has severe limitations - e.g. don't expect it to penetrate walls/people. It would be perfect for things like replacing HDMI (less cables to your TV hanging on the wall),  wireless VR etc... but I don't see a good reason to add support for a draft version to a phone.

  • Russian bank exec says Apple Card has 'few innovative features' [u]

Is there any innovation in the Apple Card at all? For me (in a market where there is no Apple Card), it looks like a card that has various standard features when it comes to rates and perks, looks good,  is integrated with Apple Pay and has an app showing where your money has been used.

Nothing new about any of this.

The card is all about good execution rather than innovation - which is perfectly fine.

  • Here's what you need to know about lossless Amazon Music Unlimited HD

    That’s really cheap. :)

Pretty pointless subscribing to it to listen through a portable speaker, Sonos, HomePod or whatever where frankly a fairly crappy stream is good enough, but awesome if you’re sticking it through a decent hifi.

The amount of worldwide hifi enthusiasts would say it’s not that limited a market...

Actually, Sonos Play:5s are pretty good. Tidal (and my local ripped CDs) sound slightly better than Apple Music on them - more punch/directness. I can also hear some difference on my main system, with either my headphones (Sennheiser HD800s) or on the speakers attached to it.

If Apple starts offering lossless, I'll upgrade on day one.

  • Apple sues virtualization firm Corellium for selling iOS and iTunes knockoffs

I have a feeling Corellium doesn’t sell to developers as they claim.  Apple has their own tools for developers, obviously debugging apps would be included.

While Apple includes some very basic tools in XCode, testing needs go way beyond this. Xcode is just a development tool, the market. Testing is far more than debugging.

Developers want to be able to integrate automated regression testing of both web sites and web applications  (as accessed from various IOS-devices and IOS-versions), as well as cross platform applications, in their CI-systems.

While most development tools contains some basic testing functionality (at least if you include unit tests here), there is a huge market for testing software, experts and solutions. Xcode does not cover all needs.
