  • iPhone 15 Pro models could cost at least $100 more

They're already increasing a lot outside the US due to the strong dollar, this might make it even worse.

  • Mac Pro in danger after fumbled Apple Silicon launch

Overall, the Mac Pro just doesn't make a lot of sense these days.

A hefty workstation like this would normally support multiple CPUs, ridiculous amounts of memory, and multiple powerful GPUs. The new Mac Pro doesn't support any of this, so the only thing you can use all that space for are very specialized IO cards - fibre channel, infiniband, and the like.

That's a pretty subniche bit of an already niche market, so I wouldn't be surprise to see it go and Apple just quietly abandoning it.

  • Apple still doesn't need RCS, but the latest update brings it closer to being suitable for...

    This article is fundamentally flawed.

RCS is not "a new internet messaging standard". It started as a telcom industry initiative in 2007, and was developed at the GSM Association from 2008 onwards. The goal was to replace SMS, which was a hack that had become incredibly popular.

  • Apple Silicon is why 15-inch MacBook Air was possible at all

    This is just marketing hyperbole.

Apple made the 13 inch Macbook Air for many years, and the new 15 inch MBA has the same chip/performance as the 13 inch. There's more room for battery, and more surface area for cooling than on the 13 inch.

Sure, the Apple Silicon makes it better in some aspects than an x86-laptop, but that applied equally to the 13 inch. The real reason there was no 15 inch Macbook Air is because Apple didn't want to make one. This, in turn, would be based on sales estimates vs lower sales of the MBP as some customers would prefer the MBA.

  • US Apple Watch ban still unlikely after Biden decides not to block it

AliveCor has no interest in actually banning AppleWatch - for them, this is leverage for getting Apple to pay for using their patents and for doing whatever Apple did to make Kardiabands no longer work.

This is just another front in the patent dispute.
