Apple TV viewing hours surged 709 percent in March quarter
I use our ATV4 with the channels app for 90 minutes of live TV DVR. Plex is also available if you want to stream DVR, but you need to configure a media server or NAS that is fast enough to store the files.
For us, the Sling App used on ATV4 and its included DVR fits our needs.
Now that Amazon Prime is on ATV4, the access to different services is complete.

Probable 'iPhone SE 2' exposed by European regulatory agency
I carry 2 iPhones in 2 different carrier networks. One for work (7s Plus) and my trusty iPhone 5s. I got the 7s because tethering is important for work and I wanted the longest battery life possible. I'm not a fan of the size. I still appreciate the form factor of the 5s in many respects. I had the battery replaced by a local company about 18 months ago and enjoyed the improvement. I didn't do the SE at the time because the storage was insufficient at launch. Since then I've been waiting for an upgrade to version 2, which should replace my 5s. Form factor and overall value, not just price, is important to me. I'd love to see the small form factor include a 2 camera setup like the 7s+ or X, but doubt Apple would add that at any price. I hate feeling like I have an iPad against my face when answering a call on a 7s Plus, which is why it is mostly used as a data device. -
The Smartphone Endgame: Who wins once shipment volumes peak?
Good analysis. A catch is that if a company can figure out the volume approach while also staying profitable, it is still a powerful and viable combination. Southwest Airlines is an example of this approach, although notice they also avoid playing in markets that sit outside their core competency. Many other airlines attempted to compete with Southwest and failed because they could not be profitable by matching on price. Southwest figured out how to drive costs out of the product for non value add items.
Apple has some uniqueness however here because their sales are also tied to proliferation of iOS and we all benefit from good market share in that arena. I've owned Macs since '92 and there were lean years where important software was not available to me on the platform or introduced late, or discontinued. I would not want the same fate with iOS. The OS platform is important, not just the hardware, with innovations outside of Apple investing in the iOS platform and peripherals being important, too. -

iPhone and Apple Watch Emergency SOS feature save woman, child after collision

Surprised she hit the steering wheel though - surely an airbag would have went off in such a new car (Nissan Rogue/Qashqai) and the seatbelt would have tightened instantly (was she wearing one?). Airbags are not only for frontal impacts, I remember my old 2003 Renault Laguna deploying various airbags including the steering wheel when I was hit from the side.
