  • iPhone 14 will get 48MP camera sensor, folding lens arriving with iPhone 15

And in the process, making pictures even harder to text/mail/send/airdrop to people. Not sure which consumers benefit from the ever-increasing pixel density and file sizes. I have a Nikon D800, (40megapixels) and have always reduced file size. I guess it will impel flash drive development....
Gosh, if only our devices could resize, scale, and compress images for transmission. Oh, wait, they already do! Yup, the images you text are not the same as out of the camera. And iOS email asks what size to send. All of which are fine for friends & family use cases. Going to do professional printing? You won't be texting those over, so it's a moot point.
Testify! In fact, compression is so commonplace it's hard to reverse. People email photos for my weekly newspaper as thumbnails, then are dumbfounded when I explain as simply as possible to please kindly select the largest size offered. In many cases, they received the photo at smaller size or swiped it from Farcebook, and it's hopeless.

I guess it's sadly similar to mid-'90s when people would bring in a Polaroid with tiny subject matter surrounded by see of nothing, and ask if I could make it big for print. Whipping out my handy pica pole and proportion wheel, I tried to explain the person in photo would be a ghostly smudge at 357 percent. Obviously, that didn't register with Joe Dokes.

Silly? Apple’s cloth is sold out through at least January.
Yeah, it's absolutely silly, and I stand by it.
Sounds like somebody forgot to put socks on his iPods this morning.
Funny story - I ran into a pile of them at Target about a year after they were discontinued. At $2 per multipack, I couldn't resist. I may still have an unopened box around here someplace in my bins!
Based on quick web searches, you invested your money quite wisely! If you bought Target out that day, you might be able to retire.

  • It's time to drop apps that don't support Apple Silicon natively

There isn’t always a alternative! We use Broadcast cameras from Sony. These cameras use SXS Cards as memory card. Sony doesn’t support with their device driver Apple Silicon. It’s impossible to ingest content to M1 Macs 🤨
Sony makes nice products, but they were early adopters of concept of proprietary tech that only plays nicely with other Sony products.

They can't kill Rosetta 2 if you don't upgrade OS. I've stuck with 10.12 to make crappy old InDesign run. Procured new iMac late summer to replace it and downloaded Rosetta to make Quark XPress work. Worst case scenario, my last OS will be one before Rosetta dies. I used Quark 4 until like 2012 when I toiled for HateHouse Media, so I know value of old tech now that I'm sole proprietor of own weekly.
