  • Hands on with Apple's new HomeKit architecture in iOS 16.2

This will be a welcome update if it does indeed performance of HomeKit. HomeKit communication can be sketchy and unreliable. I have HomePods throughout my house. I have the odd Thread device and my router (Eero) and its sub devices are also thread but still HomeKit can be sluggish.

I am super excited for this update once it is released to see if it improves things and I hope it include Matter and that all my HomeKit accessories update for Matter so communication between them can be significantly improved too.

  • Adobe adds new features to almost its entire software suite

Adobe products are so over priced. Take adobe acrobat. Buggy but so expensive for what you get. For the same monthly cost, I get the whole Microsoft Office Suite, plus OneDrive storage. WIth adobe, I get a piece of ordinary buggy PDF software for the same cost or just about. Simply awful. No wonder people source alternatives.

  • Australia Apple Store workers go on strike

If you read the union's argument why not to vote yes, the wording is sour, bitter and aimed at exaggerating their claims. I am not disputing some of the issues raised around leave and shift notification and the salaries don't look super generous (but then I have zero idea what other retailers pay) but this is also totally excluding other benefits they receive.

Once again, the unions seem to be trying to justify their existence. At the end of the day, people will vote with their feet, if its not a good place to work and you are not remunerated well enough, people simply will not work there. Period.

  • Australian union calls for Apple Store strike over pay and benefits

Unions had their time, way back in the day when they were needed but there is so much regulation and employees rights these days, unions are redundant. They just can't help themselves pushing benefits beyond what is fair and reasonable. Little wonder they get such a bad wrap, or businesses simply closing and moving off shore, in the case of manufacturers.

I read the demands of the unions and they are so out of touch with reality. This is simply gouging. They are dreamers and it is almost offensive to read. Wow, if the workers got all of those demands, they would be laughing (but probably no less happy), but costs would balloon. It isn't just a couple of isolated items here, they are absolutely shooting for the stars and beyond, hoping to get to the moon but this so typical of unions. Out of touch with reality. Greedy. Not conducive to a fair and balanced solution. Yes, Apple makes billions but that doesn't mean you gouge them. I full support companies doing a profit share of some sort for every employee but not to this level of ridiculousness.

  • Apple Watch Ultra review: Ambitious aspirations

Not sure why people wear watches right over their wrist knuckle / bone. Right behind the hand. It looks so wrong. A watch should be worn just behind the knuckle bone.
