  • ANZ first to offer contactless eftpos payments in Australia thanks to Apple Pay

What a brilliant option and all credit to ANZ, that is a feature i would use. Yet, i can't because I am with Westpac or are dragging their sorry arses, refusing to accept ApplePay while the collude with the other 2 big banks to try and protect their profits. ANZ is looking more and more attractive for a switch!

  • Apple denies iPhone X failed in onstage demo, says Face ID feature worked as intended

Totally plausible. Its a live show, stuff happens, even in the most polished presentations. It won't harm Apple. It will if users get it and it starts failing. There will, of course, be people who will try every avenue to make it either fail or prove it can be tricked. Whilst finding security flaws is great to report for added security to be addressed, to simply say it doesn't work because you have your hair over your face, under water, and in the dark will be simply wrong... but there will be people that will do that to try and undermine the technology but as with touch ID, it will hopefully prove to be a success.

  • First look: Hands-on with Apple's iPhone X

I'm just not sure about accessing control centre from the top of the screen, I love being able to pick my phone out of my pocket, swipe up to get control centre, such as calculator but now it's almost two handed job, I get a sense it could make it clumbsy and more chance to drop the phone especially if trying to do it with one hand.

i remain reserved until I've played It in person but welcome others thoughts on this.

  • Inside iOS 11: Apple's Control Center grows modular, gets customizable

What about wifi networks, does it allow you to be able to switch between wifi networks easily, rather than having to go into settings every time? This is something i have been waiting for, often my iPhone connects to my 2GHZ wifi network but works better of the 5 GHZ, so I am constantly having to swap wifi networks, which would be made much easier if I could simply press and hold wifi in the control centre and view other wifi networks to connect to.

  • Australian banks call alternatives to NFC 'unrealistic' in fight to avoid using Apple Pay

Quote... These benefits include "more opportunities for cashbacks and other promotions," as using these alternative wallets would avoid the Apple Pay transaction fee, and in theory would provide an incentive to "share some or all of that saving with the customer," as well as to fund development of new features. Are the banks dreaming! Do we really believer or trust they would share some or all of that saving to the customer. Give me a break. The more the banks fight this the more resentment they generate and the more it proves this is not about consumer at all, it is about retaining control, and increasing profits for shareholders not giving back to the customer. The whole thing stinks and reiterates my utter distaste for the high fees, low service provided by Australian banks. If this was such an issue, it would never have got out of America. Australian banks about time you did the right thing for your customer, Westpac, ConBank, National, Bendigo, demonstrate you want to help your customers - genuinely!
