Apple Watch Ultra 2 gains S9 chip, brighter screen, and new gesture
designr said:So the question here is always: What previous watch would you be at that might justify an upgrade to, for example, the new Series 9?
I mean last year's? No. Year-over-year updates for Watch or iPhone seem pretty silly these days. But how far back does it seem like "Eh, that's a pretty decent jump in features, functions, performance, etc."?
I'm curious if the new finger tap thingy on the watch can be used by apps to do other things. -
Everything the iPhone 15 Pro Action button can do

In today's cringeworthy moment: after touting sustainability and carbon-neutral-ness...we move to showing people climbing "the highest mountain" something that is widely known to be a complete ecological disaster. AWU is a cool product, but man...cringe city in highlighting the ability to enable that. -
iPhone 15 USB-C will fix some problems, but create issues for most
robin huber said:I volunteer twice a week at my local State Park doing native plant restoration work in the field and nursery. Involves a lot of grubbing around in dirt and chopping through invasive plants. The iPhone in my pants pocket regularly gets tiny seeds, sand grains, and other debris in the Lightning port. I have accumulated a small arsenal of specialized tools to remove it. Hoping USB-C will make it better, or at least not worse. I know I could buy an expensive Otterbox type of protective case, but don’t want to have that on the other 90% of the time. A small easily removable plastic port plug would be great, but haven’t found one.
