Apple's iOS 10.3 update can reclaim as much as 7.8GB of available storage
aussiepaul said:To the author, this has nothing to do with the size of the OS, which is probably larger.
it is likely because the phone underwent cleaning of caches, logs etc.
as noted in the illustration. I've always thought that "capacity" being less than the 256GB
advertised reflected the OS size...if so, the OS is smaller now...?
But I'm sure Soli will counter with that explanation about...whatever that is he's been
trying to explain (to me, among others) for years!
Or, it could be that the "gains" are illusory - when I plug-in my iPhone to my MBAir to do
a backup, the 'capacity' and the 'available' readings shown are very different from those on the phone itself.
Maybe iOS10.3 just doesn't count very well. -
Amazon adds "Send to Kindle" to Kindle for iOS, CarPlay support to Amazon Music
I've had various Kindles over the past 8 years, but do most of my reading now on my iPhone or iPad mini Kindle apps.
I keep a Kindle because I can only read the monthly Prime free borrow on it.
It's hard to imagine a more dysfunctional, stagnant marriage of hardware and software than Amazon has created
for the Kindle, and it's a ready reminder of what a joke it is when such devices are grouped with actual,
functional tablets in sales figure comparisons.
And it's why I'm always at least reluctant to try any other Amazon hardware creations. -
