    To the fanboys who think that because they haven't experienced this problem, the rest of us are "holding it wrong," please just shut up. Apple's quest for thin has resulted in a poor design, and the users are stuck with it. Apple has had an opportunity to respond to this, and they've chosen to ignore it. I'm sure Dilger will write an editorial that says this is great news, because it will spawn an entire industry of keyboard cleaners and amazing external keyboards, but the truth is that if I pay over $1000 for a laptop, and sometimes a lot more than that, I expect it will continue to work reliably for years. Since they don't, and Apple isn't fixing it, this is what happens.

    You know who also set sales records? Sculley. No ideas. Riding on the momentum of earlier innovation. Cook is great a milking the cash cows, but despite being an Apple fanboy since 1987, I've never been less interested in their products.

    Apple is far from doomed, but they aren't hitting it out of the park like they were in the post-Jobs return days. Cook is a production guy with no tech savvy and no vision. He only knows how to milk the profits from the pre-existing hits. CarPlay is lame. Safari is slipping. Siri is sad. Apple Maps suck. Music has been fumbled. Apple Watch and HomePod are mediocre, and they missed the mark with the Mac Pro cylinder. Sure, the iPhone is wildly successful, but Apple is becoming more and more dependent on that one big hit. Ask Blackberry and Nokia how that ends. All it takes is one stumble, or one innovator, and Apple begins to look like present-day Microsoft.

    If we're not merging the platforms, why do all the Mac/iOS apps keep getting feature reduced on the Mac in order to work the same as on iOS?

    What, that the Airport Express will only be an AirPlay target, and not an AirPlay 2 one? The hardware hasn't been updated for five years.

    That's an irresponsible thing for the dealer to say, from a security standpoint alone. And, you can tell them that I said so.
