The key is to realize that it's NOT a "double-touch"... it's an accelerometer based "double-tap".  The _movement_ is what triggers it.  Just smack your ear twice.

After a while you start to learn just how much movement is needed and what kind of movement is best.  I've got it down pretty well at this point.

Well done on the video!  Watch looks great.  It's cool that they give you the circular dock to go with it...

Enjoyed the whole article... but I especially thought the commentary on the headphone jack was spot on.

That part should be taken out and printed as its own article.  It feels like the world has gone crazy over this whole headphone jack business... when it's really just the same incremental improvement that's always been happening in computing...

I have a 12.9" iPP and don't care that it's missing this feature.  Why?  Because I also have an Apple Watch that does "Hey Siri".  It would be really annoying if every time I'm talking to my Watch my iPad also comes to life... ugh.

Have it off on my phone for the same reason....
