  • Rumor: Apple developing seventh-generation iPod touch, mulling USB-C for next iPhone

I'm not convinced that there's a place for an iPod Touch in today's world.
I kind of agree. Much better fit would be iPod Shuffle alike, which is great for running and jogging.

Just can't stand to run with an iPhone ....

  • Apple cuts first quarter 2019 iPhone production by 10 percent, report says

Cook is a numbers guy. He's all about profit margins that's why he keeps raising the price on Apple products. Since he's taken over Apple has gotten more and more out of touch with their average customers and are catering to the more affluent segment of the population. They are turning into the BMW of tech companies.
Apple is a premium brand and that's reflected by premium prices.  Apple products are for affluent consumers, not the peasants that buy cheap android rubbish.  If somebody cannot afford an iPhone then they should look to improve themselves and not expect Apple to lower themselves to appeal to the lowest common denominator.  Average customers buy average products.  Apple products are above average and are perched at the very top.
    Don't be such a fanboy.

Apple set mad prices. Market reacted by not buying, wether you like it or not. Thats why we have this forum thread.

Like @Saarek said. iPhone is the best phone, but is not x4 better than Huawei, Samsung and other knockoffs. And its priced 4x!! Yeah iPhone has great design, hw and the best software. But far from what you are saying cheap Android rubbish. There are some decent Android phones that can do everything iPhone can and even do some things better.

They are turning into the BMW of tech companies. Over engineering everything(MacPro), charge a ton of money for it and tell people they are having the best experience in the industry. Cook doesn't understand that we don't need the absolute thinnest, best looking, ect PC or phone. The OS is what made Apple great. Not the hardware that runs it. And look at that colossal waste of money that new "spaceship" campus is.  And let's not forget the huge tax gift Trump  gave Apple only to have Apple use most of it to buy back their shares when the stock price was at or near it's highest point loosing close to 10 billion dollars. That alone would have been cause for most CEOs to be fired.
That couldn't be said more correctly.

Cook has lost the reality. No clear innovation, just numbers and pointless features like animojis, stupid AR and things that you don't use ever just to increase the prices.

Apple will be crying in few years for a visionary like Jobs.

How I see it what happened with Cook:

    - prices went up
    - quality of the products down (iPhone, Mac, haven't been using anything else since Jobs died)

At list software keeps the quality standards still high, though, really lots of stupid features get introduced that you never use and some basics are missing since years!

  • Tests show iPhone XR screen just as durable as iPhone XS and XS Max

Cue the people bashing the 'crappy' glass that can't withstand dropping 6 feet on to concrete! That's exactly why I get a case with corner protection.

I was in Target yesterday and they had the Xr on display right next to the Xs. Side by side, I could see virtually no difference in the display quality and actually thought the Xr looked a little better, so I find it hard to argue that the screen on the Xr is a compromise.

Also, what memory does the display use? Is the benefit of the extra RAM in the Xs simply negated by the higher screen resolution? Subjectively, I noticed no difference between the phones when I played with them at Target, but that is far from a thorough evaluation.

I think the only real compromise in the Xr for most people will end up being the single lens camera and the lack of a telephoto lens.

Finally someone with a sane view to the latest iPhone pricing.

iPhone X and now Xs is way too expensive for a mobile phone.

XR is the one to buy!

  • Apple donates $1M to Indonesia earthquake and tsunami relief efforts

I wonder if Tim realizes he’s giving Apple money to an Islamic-majority country where racism is a common problem and sharia law is applied in at least part of the country?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesia#Issues
Look at your own back yard... you have more racism in USA then Indonesia ever had...

Thumbs up Apple for donating. Could be more though...
