  • French, German ministers to meet in push to counter encrypted messaging apps

Nowhere on Earth is as free as the US,
Still fighting the War of Independance. So predictable with your hate fuelled bile, devoid of empathy, dishonest and a stuck_in_a_rut gun nut.
Yes, there's lots the US is free of too

They're already screwed. Too late for them now. :#

The facts of the matter are that the worst German leader since WWII, that vile woman AKA Merkel, invited the entire world to migrate to Germany and the EU. Terrorists all over the world also heard her call, and they've taken her up on her offer.

Now there are mass rapes and sexual assaults everywhere. :# The worst mass rapes and sexual assaults in Germany since the fall of Berlin in 1945. Well done my EU friends!  :#

And let's not even mention terrorists shooting people up everywhere, terrorists driving large trucks through crowds of people, and terrorists blowing themselves up left and right. :#

These retards think that encryption is the problem?  :#

All I have to say is, hahaha! What a bunch of totally clueless, pathetic people, who are so clueless, that their cluelessness is downright dangerous, and has gotten so many people killed already.

Keep up the good work, my EU friends. :#

It's no wonder that the UK wisely chose to break away from you lot. You're a bunch of deranged lunatics and pathetic appeasers and I laugh in your general direction.
Just two words...vile xenophobia and I'll quote three of yours back at you - "deranged lunatic(s) and pathetic"

You may not agree with Europe's hopes for a multicultural society but the majority here do and democracy wins whether or not you are onboard.
As for the 'surveillance' aspect, are you seriously suggesting the current Conservative gang_without_a_plan for Brexit...doesn't harbour exactly the same aspirations ré 'backdoors'?
They have also stated that they have no desire to withdraw from EU wide security and intelligence sharing, so theoretically the UK would still be subject. They all want the same thing. US, UK, EU, China, India, Russia.....
They can't have it but they will come up with stupid unenforceable stuff in the meantime.

  • FBI director calls for restart of smartphone encryption debate

And something terrible is no doubt going to happen sooner rather than later, and I do not give a crap if the FBI can not hack into any phones. Something terrible happens approximately every 86 hours in Europe, sucks to be them I guess. B)
So if I said "Something terrible happens with a school shooting in the US every 85 minutes, sucks to be an American school kid" that would also be cool and clever?

Well, he is starting the discussion by declaring his ignorance: "he did understand why Apple chose litigation as a venue to start the conversation." It is well documented that Apple started the discussion about the San Bernardino iPhone by giving the FBI immediate access to the information they had. THEN, in a press release, the FBI & DOJ blindsided Apple by slapping them with a court order to create a govOS version if iOS. Last I looked, that FBI court order is the very definition of "starting litigation". So Mr. Director, who started the litigation????
Sad that I have to come to page 3 of comments to find the first person who exhibits some medium term memory facility. You are quite right. Apple and the FBI were already 'in conversation' about the San Bernardino iPhone. They could have asked Apple to explain the consequences of resetting the pw....but they didn't. Comey is exhibiting delusional behavior, by actually quoting Tim Cook's reaction to the court order...
"“[I]f I have a relationship with you, and I decide one day I’m going to sue you, I’m a country boy at the end of the day: I’m going to pick up the phone and tell you I’m going to sue you,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a Time cover story published Thursday."
It's  a Trump-like gambit. Get in first with disinformation to establish moral high ground even though it's demonstrably untrue.

  • Apple internet services suffer wide outage, iCloud, App Stores, Apple TV, iTunes, others down [ux2]

What evidence is there that Forstall was a threat to be CEO? I don't doubt he may have thought he was worthy but there is zero evidence he was ever under consideration.

Its my own opinion, but Cue hasn't had to sign a public letter accepting responsibility for all the times his services are going down.    Lets face it iMaps when it came out was basically somewhere between alpha and beta code but I really don't see where its much better and outside of the US it has a poor reputation.   The new maps center in India is plainly far too late - should have been  set up two years ago.  Why didn't Jony Ive apologize for having a protruding camera on the 6 and 6S.  And SIRI is really sorry.       Apple really needs to get their software act together fortunately the core of iOS is still as pretty close to how Forestall built it (despite a bad UI redesign by Ive a few years ago.    I also think the iPhone SE will be a bright spot for apple this year and save Cook's bacon.   Cook's basically a bean counter.      They need someone who realizes a smart phone is more just a "pretty" slab.    Its the software that brings life to the hardware. They need someone to really drive that and put emphasis on it.

P.S.    I wouldn't trust an Apple car for the next ten years considering iMaps and SIRI.
And I wouldn't trust anybody wielding so many reality defying memes in one post.
I lived in the village in Norfolk UK that was the very first Google Street View mapped area here. My house had someone else's drive entrance, was referenced against the wrong post code and together with Google Maps showed the wrong access down a track and my house on the edge of a non-existent lake.
It improved with user feedback, just like Apple Maps.
"Why didn't Jonny I've apologies for having a  protruding camera..."?
What. The. Fsck. Why don't you apologies for your totally unbalanced viewpoint?
