Assume there is a ~50/50 split of political affiliation.

No matter who you support - you will offend half your user base.  Now, as the CEO of a company, my goal is to sell as much of my product as possible.  To do this, I market the hell out of my product (nice job), I build a quality product (nice job), I support my product with outstanding after-market support (nice job) and I keep my PERSONAL LIFE out of the public eye (WTF are you doing, Mr Cook?).

I don't care what you do in the bedroom.  That is YOUR business, not mine.

I don't care who you vote for, that is YOUR business, not mine.

When you make it public domain - you provide a reason for people to hate you, and by extension, your product.

Let's ask some basic questions, shall we.  Is the CEO of (Coke, Pepsi, Ford, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Toyota, Dell, Nike, Whirlpool, Mars Candy, Hamilton Beach, McDonalds - looking around my office ...) straight/gay/bisexual, Atheist/Christian/Buddhist/Wiccan/Satanic/Moslem, liberal/conservative, white/black/Hispanic/ ....

I don't know ... they don't advertise .... and most everyone else doesn't know (or care) either.  And because of this, they don't alienate any customers because of it.

They sell products.  And that's the bottom line.

So, on the HUNDREDS of brands sold at Target - their huge losses are all Apple's fault?

Or could it be that their Tyrannical decision to let any degenerate who wants to "identify" as a woman, into the woman's restroom; is having the exact result that was promised?  People with JOBS, you know, the customers who actually shop there; you know, the 99.998% of Americans' with an actual income who are not trans-sexual and believe that your gender is defined by your plumbing; and is not "all in your head". 

We refuse to set food in Target - we go out of our way to shop ANYWHERE else.

Target told us to put up with it, or go elsewhere.  We are going elsewhere; and no matter how much they beg, no matter how much they apologize; they showed us their true colors; and we are showing them ours.  They can go bankrupt, they can go broke - we don't care.  Good riddance to trash.  There are companies that respect my wife's privacy and safety that deserve our business; and that's what they are going to get.

Used to be a company called Colors of Benetton that pulled this sort of crap - where are they now?

I do not think Messershmidt does any Apple bashing. The worst he says is that people at Apple failed to replicate S Job's thinking, which is probably true but maybe not because it can't be taught, as he suggests, but rather because the company moved on and there is no place for a new Steve in Tim's Apple.

Very good point. Granted, Steve was a visionary - but he was also a sociopath. You can have the good; without the bad, and I think that Tim Cook is doing his level best to deliver that. Tim is trying to deliver an ethical company, one with established morals, that can be believed by the customers - holding true to the message that Apple has long promised - without the mercurial temperament that Jobs was famous for. Jobs was known to be emotionally abusive, to ignore people who fell into disfavor, to rant and rave and brow-beat people into submission; while Tim Cook operates more evenly. Given a choice, as an engineer; I would much rather work in a high stress environment with a boss like Tim Cook, than Steve Jobs.

Ok, so we are talking about a 2.14 Gig and 1.074 Gig DRAM memory block riding piggyback; all addressed by a standard 32 bit bus, giving ~3.2Gig total DRAM that is addressed within the 4 Gig addressable block window provided by the 32 bit bus. So, we are seeing similar speeds (to the best of my knowledge) just 50% more available DRAM space to hold and buffer the iOS, apps and data - which should translate to faster performance

But, all that really matters, anyway - is what their INTENTIONS were, right?  I mean, if the Government tramples over the US Constitution, everyone's freedoms our privacy and all of our rights - that's fine.  Just as long as they didn't INTEND to violate our rights, then things are just honkey-dory.

That seems to be the level of logic this man is capable of digesting, whether you violate laws is really inconsequential; it's what the intentions were that really matter.  And he, alone is the arbitrator of what you really intended to do.  I guess he is not only the Director of the FBI, he is also a world class mind reader and armature time traveler.,
