  • Elon Musk mulling offer to buy Twitter from shareholders for $46.5B

I've never accepted claims of altruistic motivations at face value when billionaires are trying close a deal. Musk is particularly effective at convincing people what's he's doing is "for humanity" but when did people become so naive? I mean, did anyone really believe Google created Android as an "open" platform because of "don't be evil"? Google got so much "street cred" from tech geeks for that altruistic "open platform" messaging, before they created their own app store and closed services. I find it hilarious right now they're running ads day and night to rehab their image as a "defender" of your "privacy."

  • Steve Jobs wasn't a good engineer, had to learn communication & sales says Wozniak

Saying Steve Jobs had to learn something isn’t the criticism some of you are taking it as. Nor does saying it mean Woz is bloviating.

  • Apple's M1 Ultra combines two M1 Max into a powerhouse chip

All y’all talking about “saving the quad for a Mac Pro” - are there additional interconnects on the M1? The ones used by the Ultra were discovered when the Pro/Max were x-rayed.

  • AirPods are no longer cool, claim people who can't afford them

LOL the idea that AirPods are "no longer cool" is as funny as the fact that AirPods weren't originally cool. The online technorati openly derided the AirPods with jokes about wearing toothbrushes in your ears, saying they looked stupid, etc. That didn't stop the AirPod's rise in popularity because they're very good, and got better with newer versions.

  • Tile says AirTags helped its business, still says Apple is 'unfair'

Tile's complaining is weak sauce. What have they done to make their product better? What have they done to differentiate? To compete?
Amazon Alexa and Google Home show that you need Apple didn't share its technology to win. Oh, but that kind of competitive advantage costs millions in R&D to develop you say? True. I didn't say competing against one of the world's biggest companies would be cheap. Get started, Tile. When Apple started, they started from zero. They were small. They had to compete with the Atari, Commodores, and IBMs of the era. Steve Jobs didn't whine that IBM wasn't sharing its secret sauce, he sought to leapfrog IBM. I don't understand the entitlement these days from companies like Epic and Tile, but whining won't solve their problems.
