  • AirPods Max just got the laziest and most disappointing update possible

Why do they let so many of their products die a slow death? HomePod discontinued, then a meager update years later. HomeKit and the Home app. So much potential, yet so little effort put into it. FCP went dormant for years. I don't want to make an entire list of the items that they half a$$, it's depressing. So much talent yet nothing that stands out as new and exiting or innovative. It feels like they have been rehashing the same old stuff for years. That may not be entirely true, but the perception is none the less there. It would be nice if they would step out of their comfort zone every now and then and try something groundbreaking (Apple Vision Pro is cool but not a daily use product for everyone). Heck, even if they would come out with a new HomeKit hardware device, this would be exiting. I don't know, just a little underwhelmed lately.

  • Apple Vision Pro streaming media landscape is complicated at launch

This would be a golden opportunity for Apple to create a YouTube competitor that had Apple Vision Pro videos showcasing the educational DYI videos from a cool perspective!

  • Loupedeck Live and Loupedeck CT review: Customizable controls for creative pros

I have had the Loupedeck CT for almost a year now. They give you 30 days to return it if you find it doesn't meet your needs. It took the full 30 days for me to decide to keep it, mainly due to the time it took to make it fit into my workflow (video editing in After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop). It took a while for me to appreciate how much this tool helped in my day-to-day. There were two items that I still think need work. One is while scrubbing the timeline in After Effects, it is not smooth and is useless to use here (Loupdeck did say is was due to AE's SDK). It works great in Premiere. Two, the jog wheel. The outer metal rim on the wheel is too thin and I found myself inadvertently touching the screen. So I made a 3D printed jog wheel with dimples and it solved the problem for me. Loupedeck is great at responding to any questions I had (can take a week for a response though) and they assure me they are looking into certain issues. All-in-all, I like the Loupedeck CT and use it everyday in my editing workflow.

  • From X10 to Matter: The smart home evolves again

If it is true that some existing devices can be upgraded to use Thread and Matter via firmware, that would be great. Unfortunately, I suspect that no one will go this route and prefer to use it as a way to sell additional products rather than simply upgrading the existing ones. Easy way for those companies to say that their existing products are obsolete, and want you to "upgrade" to new ones.

  • Photo quality comparison: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 versus iPhone 11 Pro

Nitpicking here, but isn’t it 50 times, not 50 “X”
