There is. AMD chips since the R9 family and nVidia chips since the 700 family support Metal. Theoretically.

2009 Mac Pro here. 10.13 runs like a dream. There was no excuse for Apple to cut support. I’m hearing that 10.14 will also run perfectly well with my updated graphics card, after a bit of a twist in installing it. That will likely be it, though. So 10 years of software updates. And that’s just for my model.

Sounds like we could maybe get that Metal-compatible GPU driver installed if dosdude can work up a copy of Mojave with the OpenGL renderer reactivated.

Why

A nation has a duty to its people to see that they are protected. Protection is defined as physical, economic, and social. Import tariffs protect domestic business, and thus are vital to the survival of the nation. Every government has more than a simple right to institute tariffs–they have the duty to do so. I advocate strong foreign protectionist policies.

I also advocate strong laissez-faire domestic policy, but that’s not the topic of the thread.
