Early previewers praise new HomePod's 'just wow' audio
At the end of the day it’s just fugly (IMO) and I don’t want an always listening speaker or device, even though I trust Apple far more than the likes of Google or Amazon. The concept itself I just find creepy and unnecessary, especially considering I’ve got a phone with me at nearly all times that can be used to control a connected speaker. I’m not sure if it has an input jack either but somehow with Apple being Apple I highly doubt it.
Audio products from Apple will never appeal to me. I’d much rather have a B&O or B&W wireless speaker, like something from B&W’s Formation range. -
2023 16-inch MacBook Pro vs 2021 MacBook Pro - compared
This article is a total beat-up for a refresh with very few changes. It rehashes many features not only in the former model, but in the 2019 model and earlier. It could’ve been a quarter the size and still been too long.“ Both the new and older models sport a mini LED Liquid Retina XDR technology for the screen. It lets professionals use preset reference modes that set the color space, white point, gamma, and brightness on display. Professionals can also create custom reference modes.”This has been possible on Macs for decades and has nothing to do with the mini-LED XDR display.
The price went up here in Australia for only a marginal improvement after 1.5 years. I know inflation is up, but in these economic conditions they won’t break sales records that’s for sure! Expect to see discounts early and often!
I was strongly considering upgrading my 2019 but unless they solved the slow display pixel response time (and maybe even if they did) it’s a hard no. I’ll wait for an M3 version on 3 nm with FaceTime and a faster screen. -

Apple TV with A14 & new HomePod with Apple Watch S8 chip rumored for 2023
So they’ll replace a soon-to-be 4 year-old chip that first appeared in 2018 iPhones with a 2 year-old chip that debuted in 2020… in 2023? And they call that caring about the product and moving it forward? That’s just laughable.
Is the Apple TV the designated product for chips they source from recaptured old phones? That’s the only justification I can think of other than extreme profiteering and taking their customers for idiots. I’m not buying an AppleTV that has a several-years-old chip even when it’s first launched. Seriously Apple, what gives?
You could say the A12 already handles video streaming functions at 4K, and it does, so why do you need anything more? But video streaming isn’t the only thing to consider. There’s also efficiency and as others have said the potential for gaming that is being left to flounder if not die off on the device completely.

The new MacBook Pro: Why did Apple backtrack on everything?
