  • Apple urging retail staff to wear masks again even if they're vaccinated

It is amazing how we just keep repeating the insanity. We know that mask mandates and lockdowns don’t work. This is unequivocal. That is not to say masks don’t work at all, but the way we’re wearing them clearly will not be effective.  We aren’t talking about wearing an N 95 or better mask when entering a high risk environment like a medical facility or a nursing home. We’re talking about wearing a piece of cloth or paper across your face while you shop for your new AirPods. It’s not going to do anything.
Sure they do. It's asshole republicans who can't seem to follow simple rules that keep exacerbating this problem.

I now see plenty of businesses saying that if you're vaccinated you don't have to wear a mask, but for unvaccinated people to wear them. Are unvaccinated people going to wear masks? Not the ones that I know.
This asshole Republican wore one throughout the entire pandemic until the CDC said vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear them. Yes. I'm vaccinated. I have been since March 29...but you go ahead and keep generalizing. I know many Democrats who, once they no longer had to wear them, refuse to wear them ever again.

    But, yeah, asshole Republicans.

  • Apple employees threaten to quit as company takes hard line stance on remote work

Working remote creates a gigantic communication barrier like there never was before. Case closed.
I've been a remote worker since 2005. My entire team is remote. We get along just fine. WE communicate no differently than when we're in the office. The only difference is our conversations are usually limited to just work. So our conversations are far more focused and short.

A lot of people moved because they thought they were going to stay remote. A lot of them came to my area and bought up every damn house with cash.

Can't wait to see these houses go back on the market as these workers head back home.

  • Apple releases MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone

No one is going to buy an iPhone over an Android phone because it’s 1 or 2mm thinner. But someone certainly would buy an Android phone with a 24 hour battery over an iPhone with a 15 hour battery. Make the damn thing slightly thicker, which allows them to lose the camera bump, make longer telephoto lenses more easily, make the camera’s aperture wider, have better battery life, better speakers, better Taptic Engine and no stupid charging wart. The number of functional compromises made to satisfy the obsession over thinness is ridiculous.
Totally agree. And to your other post that shows the iPhone case with the built in battery, I would actually prefer that over the Mag Safe one. At least the giant hump on the back is flat, which means I would be able to use my phone as a level again. With the bump from the camera, the level feature is essentially useless, unless the level takes into account the camera bump.

Just make the phone thicker for heavens sake. No bump, bigger battery, happy me.
If they did that, how could they sell you the additional battery?
