  • Inside iOS 12: AutoFill gives password manager apps on your iPhone a big boost

This is probably one of the best new features, if not THE best new feature of iOS 12, in my opinion. I use the free version of 1Password. This has made logging into apps that don't use Touch ID much easier. No more going to 1Password, finding the correct vault entry, copying the password, then going back to the app and pasting the password.

    Love this feature.

  • Apple sued over claims website is inaccessible to visually impaired users

Personally, I think these types of suits should be required to show the plaintiff attempted to contact the defendant PRIOR to clogging up the court systems with yet another suit. But then you don't get: "compensatory damages in an amount to be determined by proof".
Then how would they make any money off of this?

There are lawyers/ADA activists who drive around and measure disabled parking spots and other business features to make sure they are ADA-compliant. They don't tell the owner there's a problem: they just sue. Several local restaurants have closed down because it didn't make economic sense to fight the lawsuit and they couldn't afford to make the changes needed under the ADA. One local restaurant's disabled parking was literally 1cm to close to the next spot. 1cm. And they were sued, lost, and shutdown.

This is the inevitable conclusion of trying to make things fair for everyone...rather, legally requiring everything be fair for everyone. Sometimes life ain't fair.

  • Why macOS Mojave requires Metal -- and deprecates OpenGL

This still makes no sense at all. There is no reason why Apple can't support their native SDK (Metal) and OpenGL. Microsoft has been doing this for decades with DirectX.

The majority of game developers won't bother with creating Metal versions of their rendering engines. There won't be enough customers to justify it.

  • The Mac gaming landscape remains dire, with no improvements in sight

Look at numbers. How many iOS devices are in use and how many macs. It is 1.3 billion v. 100 millions (80 percent laptops). Plus 1 billion PCs. That is huge difference that wont change. Only probably gap will increase as many people takes phone as primary computing device and are not using laptop or desktop any more.
And increase in mobile/pc and console sales increase shows the trend. 29 % versus 4 % inctease.

Who want play games buys console or PC as ganming machine. There is about 650 millions console gammers.

How many of Mac users are serious gammers? Me not. Not talking about Tetris and similar. 25%?

And as previous post says a lot of people play online games. As my girlfriend from Linux laptop.
Who? Not sure. But after spending $1300+ dollars on a machine, it sure would be nice if it could do what other $1300+ machines could do. Namely, play games. And not just Candy Crush or Angry Birds.
