  • How to free up space on your iPhone in iOS 11 without deleting apps or photos

The missing killer feature here is being able to clear app data without uninstalling/reinstalling the app. After a couple months, Facebook, Google Maps, and many other apps begin to take up a lot of space. Last night I saw that Facebook was taking up 600 MB. To delete all of that data, I had to uninstall/reinstall--a bit of a pain, especially if you're on LTE.

  • Senator calls on Apple to address Face ID privacy concerns

Franken should just stick to being a really crappy lawmaker whose only contribution to the Senate is CO2.

  • Apple announces $399 Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular, letting you ditch your iPhone for...

I don't understand why they'd keep the Series 1 and get rid of the Series 2. Why not lower the price of the Series 2 to Series 1 levels?

    What next? Kleenex Pay? Ridiculous.
Why is it ridiculous? Many fitness enthusiasts are locked into the Garmin ecosystem, just like many phone and tablet users are locked into the Apple and Google ecosystems. Now I can have what Apple Watch owners can have: paying at the register with my fitness device. Perhaps if Apple had a useful way of viewing fitness info the way Garmin and Fitbit do, I'd be more interested in getting an Apple Watch. Or maybe not, since the Apple Watch does not support my ANT+ devices (heart rate strap, cadence sensor, foot pod, and wheel sensor).
Not trying to belittle Garmin but 'eco system?'  I see they use that term themselves in marketing so I am not aiming this at you, however that's a bit of a stretch IMHO and devalues the term.  Apple has an eco system, it encompasses multiple devices including mobile, wearable and desktop and multiple operating systems that are all versions of the same one seamlessly working together over WANs, LANs as well as the cloud.
Ecosystem is the correct term, IMO. I have multiple Garmin devices (one activity tracker, one running tracker, one bike computer which all sync data back to Garmin's cloud-based Garmin Connect). Multiple Garmin sensors. Cloud based analysis of fitness data. While it may not be as all encompassing as Apple's ecosystem, but it is still an ecosystem, by definition (ecosystem -  a complex network or interconnected system).

Do you use any Garmin devices?

  • Nvidia 1080ti with new drivers in external enclosure quadruples MacBook Pro native perform...

And when the next Macbook Pro debuts with a Vega HBM2.0 GPGPU discrete GPU that lead gap will plunge considerably to a cost loss for purchasing those eGPUs.
I think it's very unlikely that Apple's first GPU will be able to leapfrog, or even come close to the same performance that nVidia achieves. nVidia's been doing this for decades.
