Some iPhone owners are reporting quick battery drain, but it's not clear why
Even though a major update is done and after it restarts and I use it a bit, I've found that if I turn it off, it seems to trigger some housecleaning that makes it take a really long time to turn off. Turning it back on, then turning it off shows it shutting down quickly. And then the battery is back to normal. I'm guessing what is described here is what I've forced.

Apple won't let go of the idea of a touchscreen MacBook Pro
I often wonder if the Touchbar on MacBooks was the first foray into a "touchscreen" for laptops. Sadly discontinued.I liked it! Then again, I am one of the few people who loved the hockey-puck mouse, since I realized you had to put your whole palm over it to use it correctly. Thereby reducing the chances of carpal tunnel syndrome from finger clicking. Which means I was never a fan of two-button mice either.

Apple Maps 'closed' mistake costs restaurant thousands
Having worked as a subcontractor to a Google contractor, who paid us to manually drive around to verify business addresses in Google Maps, I can see how mistakes like this can be made. First, the company may be registered to the home address, and that is noted to remove it from the maps and flag it for the actual business location. The latter part may be missed. You'd be surprised how manual with humans the process is. I even met a guy who was retired and was flown around the world to drive a Google Maps car (and eventually an Apple Maps car, having the experience) and he had stories to tell on how he effectively monitors the self-drive, takes photos, and makes notes of those photos on the supplied smartphone. The Google apps are horrendously over-engineered and complicated! Curious how the Apple ones work. -

X gets big exception from Apple with one-letter App Store listing
hagar said:9secondkox2 said:It’s only right. This isn’t some frivolous indie app.abbreviating the name to be cool. This is a social media giant undergoing a legitimate rebrand. X is its name so X should be its listing. Anything else would be asinine. This is the most insane rebrand ever.I'm curious what you would be searching for using only the letter X in regards to what this app does.As I'm sure as the app continues to evolve, it will have a search engine. Which makes the point of using archaic, biased, SEO engines like Google moot. Can you imagine when it goes public again, a stock with a single letter? Maybe we now know the next company to be negotiated with by Musk.Cisco called and wants its iPhone back.
