I'm sure people in that industry care quite a lot about "academy" awards, just like the Soapy and other prestigious awards.  But won't they look silly when the best movies of the year are not eligible for their thing?

For me, the best place to watch a movie is at home or on a long flight.  I get to a movie theater only every few years and I don't care if they just go away.  I am old enough to buy candy any time I want it so I don't need to look forward to the special occasion of sitting in a filthy uncomfortable room with a bunch of other people.

Thirty years ago a similar thing happened to me, only it was all the gifts I was bringing my family for Christmas, some CDs, and a portable CD player.  I also noticed just as I got off the plane.  The gifts were not expensive as I didn't have much.  One thing that really bugged me was that I was carrying (and lost) 1 CD from a 4 CD set.  I wrote the record company but never did sort that out.

Sweeney does have a point and it’s on the top of his head.  Apple is a roadblock to my domination of the metaverse too, and that’s because I don’t have the goods like Apple will.

Generally one checks rumor sites for rumors that are interesting, right?

What's interesting to me is where the belief that this unannounced product will somehow cost $3,000.00!! That is a very specific amount for something that can't even be verified to exist! Yikes!  Even Sony's VR2 which getting good reviews and is being considered a pretty solid offering is $549.00.

I agree!  Before the iPad was officially announced the rumors were that it would be really expensive. It came out at like half the rumored price and we were all impressed.  Same playbook, I think.  It will be $1000-$1500 and people will be lining up for it.
