Sad thing is that the Barton Athlon XP 3000+ gets crushed by the 3.06Ghz P4. Maybe not crushed, but in plenty of tests it's hardly worth the 3000+ performance rating; it just doesn't keep up. -

AMD's 'Quantaspeed' rating, or whatever it's called, does NOT refer to an equivalent Intel chip. It refers to previous versions of an AMD chip. So, a 3000+ AMD /= 3.06 GHZ Intel, 3000+ AMD = 3 GHZ Athlon (I believe it's the Athlon.) -

Lemme bring it back the most important point. Apple's $3000 top of the line system shows less performance than a PeeCee at much lower price. You pay top dollar for the Mac and get mediocre performance. That hurts! -
