i would guess it has to do with the quality of the DVD-R disks. i'd say find a verbatim one, or buy an apple one and give it a shot. best bet is that's where the problem lies. you're sure they aren't DVD+R, right? -

it plays fine for me, i'm on the same machine only slower, with pretty high settings. could be the lens inside is dirty. there's no reason it should be pausing like that based on the machine's ability to play the game. the problem lies somewhere else. -
